Most of the film is a Crowning Moment of Funny. But here are examples of such moments:

  • One of the backstory scenes features a clip from the original Rescue Rangers cartoon where Fat Cat is defeated and the Rangers begin laughing to themselves... and they keep laughing awkwardly because they're waiting for the director to say "cut". Even Fat Cat, who is supposed to be unconscious, opens his eyes and gestures at the camera as if he's trying to say, "Well? Are we done?"
  • Zipper, of all people in the known universe, apparently got together with Gadget is Actually Pretty Funny in a screwed up sense. Doubly so when you consider Gadget's Popular with Furries, and the fact that, at least in this continuity, she got together with a fly.
    • Seeing Zipper speaking eloquently with a deep baritone is pretty hilarious too.
  • At FanCon:
  • What is Chip listening to on his AirPods when he arrives home from work? Lamb of God's "Laid to Rest"! Unexpected taste in music from someone like him.
  • Chip sees a commercial for a new Alvin and the Chipmunks movie where the Chipmunks are rapping and complains about the cliché of having old cartoon characters rap to make them seem hip.
  • When Chip is walking home from Monty's house, he sees ads for Fast and Furious Babies, Mr. Doubtfire (starring Meryl Streep), and Batman vs E.T. (which Chip actually watches at home, and it genuinely moves him to start patching up his relationship with Dale). In the background, Dobby can be seen as a Gucci model.
  • The fact that Squidward Tentacles has his own star on the Walk of Fame.
  • Detective Putty, a claymation character, gathers fingerprints for evidence by simply slicing off a part of his clay with the print on it.
  • While driving, Dale's bumper falls off and almost hits another car... one with eyes and a mouth.
  • Dale decides to put on a business suit, complete with a top hat and cane, so he can present himself as a "magnet".
  • Dale says that everyone on Main Street is secretly a criminal. The fact that Linda Flynn-Fletcher is among these people is brings some funny images to mind. Doubly so when you remember she did canonically help a criminal. (She's unintentionally responsible for Doofenshmirtz trying to take over the Tri-State Area as she gave him the idea.)
Chip: You sure about that? That dog's blowing bubbles.
    Dog: Hello!
Dale: Nothing, and I mean nothing, is sacred in this part of town.
Cartoon Man: Bread for sale, bread for sale! Everyone loves bread for sale!
Dale: That guy, he sells untraceable weapons.
Rubberhose Shoeshiner: Scoot scoot, a shiny shoe makes the man! A shiny shoe, now there's a plan!
    Dale: Stolen social security numbers.
Little Florist Girl: Roses are a way to make a girl feel pretty!
Dale: Heheh, no thanks, kid. (turns to Chip) Muppet fights.
  • Bjornson is a little hard to take seriously, what with his mouth and arms always flapping. Granted, he is a muppet and an expy of the Swedish Chef.
"Hey Lester, no more free samples! This ain't Baskin Robbins."
  • When Dale outs himself and Chip as actors in the cheese den, Bjornson tells them that he's taking them to his boss, Sweet Pete. Dale is elated, since he's the guy they're looking for, but Chip is none too happy.
Dale: Looks like I just took us from outside the club to the V.I.P. room.
(Cut to the two tied up in the back of a moving cheese truck)
Chip: Wow, this V.I.P. room is incredible. I'm freakin' out, dude. Is that Jessica Rabbit over there? I'm only asking because I'M ZIP-TIED IN THE BACK OF A TRUCK!
  • Down in the Uncanny Valley:
    • We see two disturbing, humanoid feline... things fighting.
    • They end up at the door to Sweet Pete's industry. Bob is the one who answers. He doesn't even look at the duo, since (according to Chip) "he's got those Polar Express eyes."
Dale: Uhh...are you talking to us?
Bob: Obviously! I said, "Who are you?".
Chip: Well, right. But in fairness, it looks like you're (points behind him) talking to that window.
Bob: Nope. It actually looks like I'm looking right at you.
      Dale: Okay...
Bob: (still not looking at the duo; points to his eyes) Look at my eyes, looking right at your eyes.
      Chip: Yeah...
    • Dale then proceeds to force his way up on Chip's shoulders, making him tall enough to look at Bob. He unintentionally gets his foot in Chip's mouth. Then...
Dale: (to Bob) Hey there! Can you see me? Hi! We just wanna talk to Sweet Pete.
Bob: (looks to his left) Okay. Follow me.
    • As Bob is taking Chip and Dale through the factory in order to meet Sweet Pete, he shows them that all old and/or seldom used merchandise is purchased by Sweet Pete, melted, and then converted into porta-potties. Dale then says this:
Dale: So, he turns the toys into toy-lets. (chuckles)
Bob: WOW! That's been staring at me for years and I never pieced it together! (laughs)
    • Sweet Pete being none other than Peter Pan all grown up (though not gracefully) and an expy of BoJack Horseman (whom the voice actor of Sweet Pete, Will Arnett, did voice). Need we say more?
    • Chip frantically singing "Happy Birthday" while cleaning the toilet before jumping in will hit close to home for people with OCD or are germaphobes.
    • Jimmy and Bob proving ineffective at capturing Chip and Dale, with the former alternating between ramming on the door and pawing at it, (Furry Reminder, perhaps?) and the latter managing to break the door down...only to catch the toilet brush Chip throws at him when the latter and Dale escape by flushing themselves into the toilet, much to both Sweet Pete and Bob's disgust.
Bob: (horrified to see Chip and Dale flushing themselves into the toilet to escape) No! Nope! I'm done!
Sweet Pete: (angrily) You better pray they don't make it out of there alive!
  • Detective Ellie Steckler's backstory as a cop is utterly hilarious due to Kiki Layne's dead-straight performance of these lines:
Ellie: I really screwed up. Last year, when Peppa Pig went missing, I fell for a bogus tip. I made the whole squad raid Nickelodeon Jr. Studios. And the toons fought back. PAW Patrol attacked Sergeant Henderson. The doctors say he'll never have kids.
  • How Chip and Dale snuck into the spa: they put on proxy rat noses and tails and dress themselves up as plumbers.
Chip: Can't believe we're doing this. Just PLEASE don't do your bad New York accent.
Dale: Chip, I hear you, but it's an unreasonable ask. (to the receptionist; does the accent anyway) Yo! We're here to clean the pipes! Or did you fuhgeddaboudit?
(The receptionist presses the buzzer, allowing them to enter.)
Dale: Ho-oh! Go Yanks! And hot dogs, bagels, and pizza!
    (Inside:)
Chip: Wow. I am honestly amazed that that worked.
Dale: Me too. That accent actually got me fired from Law & Order.
  • The fact that Randy Marsh, Scrooge McDuck, and Peter Pan are in the same building at one point in this movie really says something. And naturally, Scrooge isn't bathing in water.
  • At the bathhouse, Jimmy and Bob are in the same small hot tub together, and we get this little conversation (which Ellie saw through the camera and microphone in Dale's fake rat nose after it accidentally fell off of him, got stepped on be Sweet Pete, and fell off right in front of them).
Jimmy: Huh, don't you just hate awkward silences?
Bob: Well, to be honest, it wasn't awkward until you said that, Jimmy and now it is, so great job.
    Jimmy: I guess that's true.
  • As a callback to Chip's complaints about rapping cartoon characters, Chip and Dale find themselves having to freestyle rap to pose a distraction, and they're really terrible at it. Dale gets stuck after rhyming his own name with "whale", resulting in a whole rap about how he doesn't eat whales, then when Chip has to join in, he somehow also ends up rapping about not eating whales.
    • There is also Chip's line while Dale is doing his rap.
Chip: Just devour him! Make it stop.
    • Also, as Dale starts rapping:
  • The LAPD's "battering rams" are literal rams. On top of that, if you're a football fan, you'll notice that they look slightly like the mascot of the NFL's Los Angeles Rams. Makes sense, considering that this movie takes place in LA.
  • During the scene where Chip and Dale have to evade the bootlegging machine's operations, there are at least two gems that will give us a good laugh.
    • The first one:
Chip: (crying out to Ellie) If we don't make it out of here alive, let Millie live with you. And sleep on your bed. And eat your food. And don't be afraid to really scratch that butt!!
      • While Chip is saying "And sleep on your bed. And eat your food.", Dale gives Chip a confused, Flat "What"-style look.
    • After they dodged the surgical lasers, Dale is in one piece, but Chip is revealed to have ended up with a Snoopy ear, causing the two to freak out. Cut to Ellie and Putty listening to their screams. The former's response?
Ellie: Um, I'm sure they're fine. Heh.
  • Depending on your point of view, the fight between Chip and Dale can get amusing since they are doing so as if they are an old married couple, and also it gave us a few gems.
    • When Chip got mad at Dale for Double-0 Dale, when the latter assumed it was all artichokie:
      Dale: So, we're not artichokie?
Chip: No artichokie! Nothing's ever been artichokie. Ok? I'm alone. I sell insurance. My only friend is a dog!
Dale: Okay, but then why did you say it was artichokie? I mean, when someone tells me it's artichokie, I believe it's artichokie.
      Chip: Grr! Stop saying "artichokie"!
    • Later on, Chip reveals that he kept the pog "for some stupid reason" that Dale was looking for. Then Dale gives out a heartfelt message that Dale really didn't want to do Double-0 Dale and that he wanted Chip to tell him he needed him. Then Dale says that he wanted the pog "for some silly reason" but now he doesn't and gives it back to Chip, telling him that his collection is complete. Chip's response?
Chip: What?! Don't give me that! That's the exact same thing I just said to you.
Dale: No it's not! I said "silly reason"; you said "stupid reason". note
    • After their fight:
Dale: (sniffs something) Do you smell that?
Chip: I'm definitely not falling for one of your dumb fart jokes right now.
  • Butthead makes a cameo on a bench advertising his run for Senate.
  • When the duo returns to FanCon:
    • "You got a Snoopy ear! Hahahaha!"
    • It is Chip's turn to be uncomfortable by Ugly Sonic's teeth (as Ugly Sonic proclaims he's "slooowww babaaayyy") when he and Dale go to Ugly Sonic for help.
    • Paul Rudd explaining that Ant-Man was originally called Aunt-Man and his power was being really charming to aunts, hence Aunt-Man. He then laments the change from that. This becomes a Brick Joke in the credits where Aunt-Man is advertised as part of Disney+'s line-up.
    • After that, they land on The Mane Six, as well as other random ponies.
      • Pinkie Pie has an ecstatic look on her face.
      • Chip says "Nice horsey" as he grabs one of them. The kicker? The pony he's saying this to is Fluttershy of all ponies.
    • While the boys are being chased, Jimmy picks up Cubby the Lost Boy, who happily recognizes Sweet Pete as Peter Pan, but noticed that he got old, something which Sweet Pete admits to.
Cubby: (elated) Peter, is that really you? (music stops abruptly and Cubby puts on a disgusted look) You got old.
Sweet Pete: Yeah, death is coming for us all, kid.
      • What sells it is Sweet Pete just being more casually annoyed than angry, like he just bumped into his neighbor's kid.
    • Chip and Dale duck under a table He-Man and Skeletor are at. The former vocally notices, but the latter's hilarious response?
Skeletor: There's nothing down there, you boob! You walk around with no pants long enough, and you start to notice every breeze. Hehehehe!
    • Dale tells Chip to grab the first costume he can find to wear as a disguise. They just happen to pass through an Indiana Jones stand, resulting in Chip donning a hat and jacket identical to the one he wore on the show. Cue numerous fans turning around and geeking out over them.
    • As Sweet Pete is chasing after the two, he lets out a half-hearted rooster crow and tells himself to "think happy little thoughts" as he struggles to keep up with them. You can even hear a bit of You Can Fly playing as he does this.
      • He then pulls a muscle, stopping him from going further. As a random patron walks by with a soda, he steals it (to refuel himself), only to be disgusted that it's diet.
    • Doc McStuffins, of all people, makes a cameo. She looks just as surprised as you probably are.
    • Bob coming face to face with 2019!Pumbaa, Mantis and B.O.B.. Seth Rogen plays all three characters here.
Bob: What are you looking at?
Pumbaa: Honestly, your weird, dead eyes.
      Mantis: They are weird.
      B.O.B.: Super weird.
[They break into laughter. The exact same laugh.]
      Pumbaa: So funny.
    • Jimmy the Polar Bear passing by Baloo.
Jimmy: (chasing Chip and Dale) Get back here! (notices that he just went past Baloo and goes back to see him) WOW!! Yo, man, it's you!
Baloo: (takes off his sunglasses and smiles) Baloo. Nice to meet ya.
Jimmy: (yells in delight and smiles) No way! Can I touch your face? I mean, what is going on?!
  • When Bob is being brought into the police station, he complains about his situation.
Bob: You're gonna arrest me while Jack Skellington has been embezzling from his own charity for years? Everyone knows it!
  • This exchange between Sweet Pete and Chip:
Sweet Pete: Besides, I was always more of an Alvin and the Chipmunks person.
    Chip: (disgusted) You monster!
  • After Putty is revealed as The Mole, he really hams it up how fun it is being evil. Courtesy of J. K. Simmons' voice acting.
    • Before it's revealed, Chip and Dale discuss the possibility but shoo it because it's too predictable, as their show ran with the same cliché many times, and Chip hypothesizes that Ellie is the one who's suspicious. When Putty pulls his gun on Ellie, Chip becomes shocked that Dale was right, and states how clichéd it was. Putty himself agrees with Chip, expressing the same sentiment.
Captain Putty: (chuckles) I know, it is a bit unoriginal right? Sweet Pete remember when you first approached me to turn bad, be a bad guy, and I was all "Come on, that's too predictable!"
Sweet Pete: Yeah, and what did I say?
Putty and Pete: "If it ain't broke!" (both laugh)
      • Given who voices him, it's not hard to imagine Putty laughing at Pete's offer, just like in 2004.
    • When Ellie demands to know why, Putty starts to express a sad Freudian Excuse involving his mother needing an operation, after an accident involving playing the boardgame Operation and begins to tear up...then bursts into laughter. He then reveals that the real reason was just he was paid a lot of money and that he's just a "greedy little smurf who did it for the money".
    • A minor moment, but when Putty reveals himself that he was responsible for the raid on Nickelodeon Jr., Ellie tells him the consequences, and then ends with "And worst of all, you made me doubt myself", as if that is really his worst crime compared to...well, everything else.
      • Putty's response? "Oh come on. Don't be so fragile." Bonus for that silly dance he does when he says "fragile".
  • Before Sweet Pete starts the bootlegging operation on Chip:
Sweet Pete: Chip, I wanna do something extra special for you. How would you feel about playing your old character, but with feet for ears, and a dog's snout where your tail should be?
Chip: Okay, honest feedback: that sounds terrible.
Sweet Pete: You're gonna like the way you look. I guarantee it.
  • During the flight to the warehouse, Dale's agent contacts him and asks him about major offers. Dale declines, citing that "friends are more important than business" and demonstrates so by tossing his phone away. Cue this gem:
    Zipper: Good for you, Dale!
Gadget: Probably shouldn't have thrown your phone, though.
Dale: (still upbeat) Nope. Immediately regretted it.
  • Ellie's attempt at reaching through to Putty's better nature.
Ellie: Stop him, Captain! You're better than this!
Putty: (grinning smugly) No I'm not!
  • After the bootlegging machine blows up, the firework that caused the explosion shoots into the sky and created a Mickey-shaped display, accompanied by the opening notes of "When You Wish Upon a Star".
  • For a fraction of a second before Jimmy the Polar Bear is transformed into a tiny fairy by the malfunctioning Bootlegging Machine, you can notice his head was shrunken by one of the two lasers just before getting hit again with the other laser and turning him into a fairy.
  • Once Pete goes through a malfunction of the Bootleging Machine, his body becomes a chimera consisting of random cartoon parts. for context He also has the head of a cat (similar to that of Fat Cat and/or Felicia), which promptly meows. Cue Chip's bewildered "Huh."
  • For the chase between the Sweet Pete chimera (now Frankenpete) and Chip and Dale:
    • The duo first enters in on a set with a bootlegged Pooh, Tigger, and Piglet. Pooh (or Pooj, as he is called here) can only respond with "Boh bahrba". Then Frankenpete bursts through.
      • It's even funnier when you realize that Pooh is now a public domain character since January, 2022, and thus they needn't change his appearance to bypass copyright laws.
    • Next, they come across a set with bootlegged versions of The Simpsons. The two, and "Bart", both wind up annoying "Homer", who then gets hit by "Marge's" car. What makes it better is "Bart's" response to this chaos, "Ay pachunga!"
    • And finally, they end up crashing the filming of a bootleg Aladdin, which is starring Pete. Not only does Pete look like he's normal (besides of wearing Prince Ali's outfit) and enjoying the set (implying that he willfully entered the industry), but he's also actually complaining that the two rodents are messing things up here, which follows with Sweet Pete grabbing him and throwing him aside.
  • The fight between Putty and Ellie. All of it. Overall, it should be scary, and is framed that way, but the sheer enthusiasm Putty has during the fight combined with the fact he's a short claymation model makes it all the more amazing.
    • For starters, Putty makes his own silly sounds and one-liners as he is attacking Ellie (such as, "Wheee!" "Whoopsie-Daisy!", "Yoink! Yoink!")
    • Two of the attacks Putty performs on Ellie does nothing to affect her, since again, he's a claymation model and thus does not have the physicality of a regular human. First off, he tries smushing Ellies face with his hands that became cymbals, while scatting "Cancan". He then decides to headbutt Ellie (right after saying, "Heads up!") several times, but it ended up denting his head and making him dizzy.
    • At one point, after Ellie bats him to a wall with a fire extinguisher:
Putty: (ends up with news letterings on his body) Ah, it's stuck to my face like Silly Putty! Remember that stuff?
      • Well, he is named Putty after all.
      • On top of that, the newspaper lettering that gets stamped onto Putty has "Ouch!" as part of its headline.
    • Then, as Putty is about to finish off Ellie:
Putty: Any last words? (morphs his left hand into an anvil) What? I can't hear you! No? Okay, bye-bye. You're dead!
      • Also, Fridge Logic and Rule of Funny are both present here: he is about to finish her off with his anvil-hand even though we see earlier that his attempts at bodily injury on Ellie failed miserably.
  • The wife of one of the Circling Birdies is angry that he is leaving late in the night, but as a Consummate Professional, he needs to!
  • As the net of cargo falls on Sweet Pete, all he can do is just look at the camera, gulp, and pull up a tiny umbrella.
  • Ugly Sonic's last line implies that even he doesn't like how realistic his teeth are:
"Ow! Stupid teeth! I think I bit my tongue!"
  • Getting bootlegged is undeniably a horrific fate, but some of the results are pretty humorous. Highlights include Phineas Flynn as a Looney Tunes-style dodo bird, Dipper Pines as a Smurf, Bonkers as a walrus, Kaa as a kangaroo, Wembley Fraggle's head on Patrick Star's body, Bigfoot in Fred Flintstone's outfit (And underwear still on his head), Marceline as a rubberhose toon, Mighty Mortimer Mouse, Homer looking like he leaped out of a more fluidly animated Tracey Ullman short, Pooh putting on far more weight, Casper the Friendly Ghost with Woody Woodpecker's head, Jiminy Cricket in the style of Adventure Time, and Bubbles appearing Animesque (No, not like that one) to name a few.
  • He is the terror who flaps in the night. He is the after-credits cameo who stands up to the Rescue Rangers. He is Darkwing Duck!
Darkwing Duck: Boo! Hiss! We want Darkwing! We want Darkwing! Say it with me! We want Darkwing! What a load of malarkey!
