Season 1

Season 2

  • Since his suspension, Harry has grown out a beard, sideburns, and a mustache. As he's shaving, Maddie calls him on Skype.
Harry: Hey Maddie, I'm in the middle of shaving. Call you back in five?
    Maddie: Okay. Dad?
    Harry: Yeah?
Maddie: Lose the sideburns. You look like a hobo.
Harry: A hobo? Where'd you hear that word?
Maddie: It's retro. From the great recession. And the mustache too.
Harry: And the mustache? I kinda like it.
    Maddie: 70's porn star, hello!
    • Book fans will get a laugh out of the stache because book Bosch was notorious for it.
  • As a welcome-back present, the detectives have left Harry with a box containing the remnants of the glass window he threw Captain Pounds through.
  • At one point, Jerry goes to Crate and Barrel as it turns out that Tony Allen used to hail from Little Armenia, their old stomping grounds. When he walks into the break room, Barrel is in the process of telling Crate the punchline of a joke about a hunter raped by a bear. Crate dryly asks Barrel if he realizes how he's said the joke enough times it's lost its impact on his partner. Edgar cuts them off. After he leaves with the information he needs, Barrel starts the joke over again.

Season 3

  • Harry introduces Benitez to Maddie through a date at In 'n Out.
  • At one point, while Harry is on tense terms with Jerry Edgar, Edgar comes back to his desk to find a dollar bill on the floor by his chair. He picks it up and pockets it.
Harry Bosch: Careful. Might be an IA sting.
Jerry Edgar: IA's after you, pal, not me. Obviously this is mine, fell out of my pocket.
Harry Bosch: If you say so.
    • Later in the episode, Jerry comes back from Zankou Chicken after shaking Xavi Moreno's alibi, and drops a bag of takeout on Harry's desk, ostensibly as a "peace offering".
  • Tasked with identifying the car that was used by Xavi Moreno when he killed Sharkey, Barrel says he'll look over hours of surveillance camera footage because he's "got nothing but time"—he's getting divorced. Crate ribs him by making the "tiny violin" gesture and saying "And a thousand tiny violins begin to play."
  • While talking with his entourage in episode 5, Andrew Holland calls it "cruel and unusual punishment" that his ankle monitor isn't water proof, forcing him to slip a sleeve over it in order to sleve.
    • Holland chides his attorney, John Reason Fowkkes, for not coming up with a catchy enough headline with which to smear Bosch on social media, and comes up with a Twitter campaign "#DownAndDirtyDetective", prompting immediate ass-kissing from Fowkkes.
    • At the end of the scene, Holland gets up from his chair, showing his unattractive and pasty butt to the rest of the crowd.
Andrew Holland: Anyone care to join me? [dives into the pool]
Marissa Mata: You think? [Rudy smirks at her]

Season 4

  • Upon Jerry's return to work, he finds that his stuff has been moved. He quickly realizes that Crate is sitting in his chair. Crate tries to deny it, so Jerry asks him to stand up, revealing a label on the chair saying "PROPERTY OF J. EDGAR".
    • Topped off when Harry sees him in the bathroom and tells him about the chair theft...after Jerry has gotten his chair back.
  • When Eleanor goes to Griffin and informs him that she got a feeling that someone was following her, she realizes that another FBI agent, Chuck Deng, was testing her to see if she can lose him. He loses the bet made against Griffin.
  • The resolution to the Koreatown Killer story. Instead of the old tired serial killer trope of him taunting the police and them closing in on him just to have him slip away in the last second, he just gets clipped riding his bike (something that was overdue given his reckless cycling), and then Crate and Barrel catch the case of his death simply because they and Billets were in the area and driving back to the station when the call came in. Then he's connected to his crimes through fingerprint hits. Topping it off is Crate and Barrel's ecstatic reactions when they realize they solved in two days what the RHD detectives had struggled to do in the four years KTK had been active.

Season 5

  • Officer Powers is very bitter over being relegating to light duty at the station after injuring his leg in the collision with Crate and Barrel. Eventually, after seeing him leering at Vega as she arrives, Mankiewicz has a priceless reaction to shut him up.
    Powers: Where's she from?
    Mankiewicz: Wilshire, D2 Robbery.
Powers: A transfer? What, taking a plum seat at the Homicide table?
Mankiewicz: [smugly] Comes down to who you know.
Powers: [closes the filing cabinet he'd opened and sits down at his desk] Well who wants to know you?
    Mankiewicz: What are you insinuating?
Powers: Might be Lt.'s next ex. I'm just sayin'.
Mankiewicz: Clearly the online sensitivity training isn't working for you. Let's find you something to do; keep the mind occupied, so your mouth stays shut.
  • Bosch continuing to rib Powers about the Tony Allen crime scene contamination as Powers delivers files to him.
Bosch: You found your calling. Don't even have to glove up.
Powers: A little early for busting balls.
Bosch: Try not to hurt anybody with that thing, Powers.
    Powers: Fucking Bosch...
  • Crate's gift for Barrel's retirement party is a new Apple Watch. After learning that Barrel isn't actually retiring, having just inked a new five year DROP contract, he tries to ask for it back, only for Barrel to naturally rebuff him.

Season 6

  • After Bosch and Edgar have to go to the hospital for exposure to the cesium, Edgar is rather pissed about having to surrender his three-piece suit and $400 dress shoes.
