• After Jeff gives the override code for Deacon to rescue him, Maven tries to countermand the order. Before she can get it out, Deacon jabs her in the throat. Almost every page from then on has a shot of Maven collapsed against a wall, unable to speak, clutching at her throat in pain.

• During Deacon's session with Maven, he eventually reaches the part where he and Jeff start to have a sexual relationship. As the flashback concludes with Deacon imploring to touch Jeff's body more (with a shot of Deacon shedding his outfit as Jeff lays in bed), the next panel cuts back to the office, where Maven has a completely hilarious look of shock on her face.
  • Maven is, in fact, flappable.
• Deacon's attempts to appear congenial and non-threatening to Jeff (hampered by him chasing down and slamming Jeff against a wall like a rag doll when they first meet).
