Funny / Afterlife SMP

Since this is a Moments page, all spoilers are unmarked.

Given this is a Minecraft SMP featuring various people swapping origins whenever they die, there are bound to be a few goofs here and there.

General/Multi-perspective

• Several people try to leave notes out to Lizzie for when she collects their trash (as a Raccoon at the time)... only for Lizzie to be unable to read their messages (and occasionally having Joel to translate for her) because of her Raccoon-induced illiteracy.
• While Oli and Jimmy are both livestreaming (both of whom are PG creators), Scott decides to cause chaos by dropping a curse word in the in-game chat:

• Scott decides to construct a scarecrow in his wheat field to keep birds from eating his crops. Lauren, being of Avian origin (at the time), decides to prove Scott wrong by sneaking into his wheat field... and ends up proving Scott right since she found the scarecrow so intimidating that she could only remain on the periphery of the field.
• In his second life, Sausage is thoroughly endeared by Jimmy being a cat and feeds him milk. Then this exchange happens:
  Jimmy: Fill it up! Fill it up again! Fill it up!
  Sausage: Oh– Hold up. Sorry– Hold on!
  Jimmy: Fill it up!
  Sausage: (overlapping) I've got– Let me– Hold on…
  Jimmy: I've got some cows in there! Fill it up!
  Sausage: No, don't worry! Here, I filled it up with my own milk!
  Jimmy: Oh–
  (Music stops)
  • This happened live on stream, and Scott just so happened to be in the chat... He didn't take this well.
    Dangthatsalongname: Sausage milk.
    Dangthatsalongname: Sausage milk.

    (repeats this several more times)
• During the first Guardians of the Afterlife meeting, Scott walks in on Shelby and Sausage discussing their heroic plans, and is furious at the fact that they abandoned him. After a heated argument, Scott calls them both horrible friends, steals one of their chairs, storms out of the building, and tries to dramatically slam the door behind him... but misses, and instead flips one of the trapdoors surrounding the door. Sausage has to run after him and close the door correctly.
• As Forestborns, Joel and Gem team up as the "Tree-Protectors" of the server to make sure people weren't chopping down trees, and if they were, they had to replant them.
  • The first person they sought out was Jimmy, who was building his Dojo (a pagoda made of mainly birch wood) at the time, and the two made him promise that he would do as they said, and gave him golden carrots when he did. What made this funny was that Jimmy then stated that since he was a Red Panda origin at the time, he couldn't even eat the golden carrots given to him, and subsequently immediately retracted his promise.

    • Joel's reaction was to shoot a poison-tipped arrow at Jimmy with his powers, then forget (again) that he couldn't take fall damage and immediately fall onto the next layer of the pagoda. And when he reaches the ground, his floating/levitation powers activate.
  • The next person they sought out was Sausage, who threatened to kill them if they didn't allow him to chop down trees to build a house — and as a Giant, he could deal a hefty amount of damage. They eventually came to a compromise that Sausage would replant two trees for every one he cut down... with Joel and Gem quickly growing oak and birch trees around Sausage to basically help him get started. This ends up trapping Sausage in the trees, and continues until Sausage threatens them to leave... who then gets back at Joel by planting spruce trees in his old carrot farm.

Gem

• While fWhip's first death as an Illusioner origin is undeniably sad from his perspective, it's outright funny from Gem's perspective — she was quite literally growing crops when she saw an Iron Golem attack an unknown enemy, an invisible fWhip poof into a pile of dust and inventory on the corner of her screen/vision, and his death message pop up in the chat.

Jimmy

• After killing himself to get a new origin as an Inchling, Jimmy's comments point out that he could have just rerolled and got himself a new origin without wasting a life. Jimmy addresses this in the episode after this — he forgot he could do that.

Joel

• In his 8th episode, Joel's title announces that he managed to pull a Seapeekay and die twice in the same episode. Somehow, both of the ways he dies are comical in a dark way.
  • First, the fact that Joel has built a staircase in the Nether to bridge to other parts of the server to kill people... but he forgot it was unfinished and just walks off and falls to his death. Guess that's karma for killing Catboy Jimmy.
  • Just minutes after that (in the context of the episode), Joel walks across his lava farm as an Iceling, and mentions being scared to fall in because his origin is Weak to Fire. Literally three seconds later, he walks a bit to the left and falls into one of the lava cauldrons and experiences Yet Another Stupid Death.
• Half of Joel's schtick as a Lepus was to find wild rabbits to... uh, breed with. One would wonder how Lizzie would react if she found out.
• In his 13th episode, Joel realizes that while he told his neighbour Worm/Crawler Lizzie that he would live in a tree, chopping down trees would go against his 'tree-hugging' philosophy as a Forestborn, so his alternative to cutting down trees was to... "lay some logs". As Sausage alludes to later in the episode, it can just as easily be interpreted as shitting out logs.

Katherine

• After being trapped in a glass jar by Vampire Scott, Fairy Katherine freaks out as she laments the loss of her mothling-friend, and the fact that she's going to be trapped forever now... before realizing that this is Minecraft, and she can just punch through glass.

Lauren

• After capturing Lizzie as "Joel's most prized possession", Lauren tries to give Joel a chance to save her:

  Lauren: (to Lizzie) Don't worry, I won't do anything. Maybe.
  Smallishbeans: you have my cat music disc?
  Lauren: I don't know how this is gonna play out, actually. This is my first evil-doing.
  Lizzie: Wait, "you have my cat music disc?" What the heck–
  Lauren: Oh, no, Lizzie–
  Smallishbeans: thats a very good disc!
  laurenzside: ....no
  Smallishbeans: oh
  laurenzside: well this is awkward
  Lizzie: What. The heck.
  laurenzside: I have your WIFE!
  Lauren: I have your wife!
  (Both Lauren and Lizzie start corpsing)
  Lizzie: Oh, Joel, help me! I'm so trapped Please...
  Smallishbeans: oh cool
  Lauren: (laughs) This is not at all going the way that I had hoped!
  Smallishbeans: i'll come pick her up

Meghan

• Shelby and Joey pranking Meghan by leading half of her livestock into her house to intimidate her. A serious confrontation. Joey having to lead Shelby, the latter of whom being blinded by the daylight, out of the house slowly while Meghan awkwardly watches on. Hilarious.

Sausage

• Whenever a character appears with a (new) origin, Sausage's episodes (re-)introduce them with a funny caption... and not even he himself is immune.
  • Blazeborn Joel — Hottest Man on the Server™

  • Mothling Scott — Tiny Bug Man
  • Raccoon Lizzie — The CEO of Trash
  • Feline Jimmy — Norman^note Because his Minecraft skin is based on Jimmy's real-life cat Norman

Scott

• In his 9th episode, Scott goes into the End to collect some materials... and drops the "I'm the bad guy, I'm so evil" act to dissolve into Cuteness Proximity upon seeing a Silk Moth. When he realizes this, he tries (and fails) to put the act back on:
  Scott: You are the cutest, pinkest, fluffiest thing I've ever seen! I mean– Ew, Villain, grrr. Pink, fluff, will look perfect in my exotic museum, grrrr.
• Following his messy confrontation with the Guardians of the Afterlife, Scott updates his book on the server-members' weaknesses. Noting down Shelby has since become a Feline, the first idea Scott has to kill her is "laser pen off cliff into lava". Not only is that over the top, but laser pens don't even exist on the server unless a mod is added specifically for that.
• After wandering around spawn picking flowers for a while, Angel Scott's skin suddenly and inexplicably starts smoking. His immediate response is to scold the sun.

Shelby

• Inchling Joey visiting Shelby's greenhouse and hitting a butterfly inside, telling it in a soft and high-pitched voice:
  "Give me your wings, b-(low-pitched quack)!"
• While building the cute animal café in her 10th episode, Shelby and Oli momentarily build a birch podium with an oak pole to "hold up the ceiling", as certain other YouTubers may put it.
  Shelby: Nonono, we don't run that kind of business.
