- Fridge Brilliance:
- In Otto's ending, his chair is the one to get the prize because it actually did all the work. Even then, Otto being left alone to sleep seems like a good "reward" for the lazy sod anyway.
- Given the characters' overall motif, the endings where each contestant gets their grand prize make perfect sense. Barring Otto's chair, all of these characters are so wrapped up in their respective sins that it ultimately traps them in a neverending cycle anyway. You can even make an argument that the void inside the vault is essentially how the world is to all of them; if it doesn't satisfy their vice, it has no meaning or value. This explains why Eugene complains about his prize, the only one of the cast to do so; as the embodiment of Envy, he'll never be satisfied.
- Unlike the other characters, Lucy doesn't seem surprised when Van Tastic takes off his head revealing it to be a mask. Of course, in an earlier scene of her story mode, she tries to run her fingers through Van's hair only to be surprised that it's a metal helmet. Given how intelligent she is, she probably already worked out Van is wearing a disguise.
- On top of this, whereas the other characters are dismayed (or outraged in Lucky's case) to find out there is no prize (except for Lance, who thinks it's a joke), Lucy just calmly but firmly reminds Van of the contract in full detail. It's likely Lucy anticipates that Van is going to go back on his word (why hide his face if he's being honest), so she memorizes the contract in preparation for this moment. She only gets surprised when he reveals himself to be a literal demon and tosses her into Hell, because he's suddenly an Outside-Context Problem instead of just a tiny scumball trying to cheat her out of winnings.
- Fridge Horror
- The Pirate Ship level initially starts off looking like a boat in the middle of a storm, adding the part where the water electrocutes you if you fall in. Later, you find that it isn’t a natural boat when it runs into a floating rubber Cluster Duck, a large TV still functioning in the water, a shower curtain, and a foot sticking out near the faucet. The Super Drowning Skills in the level then makes sense as you are not on a natural ocean but in a bathtub with someone who just electrocuted himself.
