Fridge Brilliance

     Season One
  • The hunky young man who hits on Tanya has a hairy chest, a full beard, and shaggy hair. His whole grooming aesthetic would be more fashionable in the 1980s than 2020, making him almost laser-targeted to appeal to someone of Tanya's age.
  • At first glance it would appear weird that a mid-level federal bureaucrat like Greg would have the kind of money to stay at a place of the White Lotus' caliber. But once it is revealed that he is Secretly Dying it makes perfect sense: if he doesn't have much time left he is probably spending his life saving living large while he can.
  • Rachel's decision to stay with Shane may be more understandable than simple gold-digging. Her time at the White Lotus results in her having a lot of blows to her self-confidence as an independent self-made woman and Intrepid Reporter. She gets called out by one of her idols as a poseur and muck-racking journalist who just repeats what other people say online.

     Season Two
  • Quentin waiting until they were near Tanya's hotel in Taormina to have her killed is a brilliant detail, because in order for the Inheritance Murder to be successful, all the conspirators need for Tanya's body to be quickly found and easily identified, otherwise she would just be classified as missing and Greg would have to wait for seven years for her to be declared legally dead and access her fortune.
  • Bert, Albie, and Dominic have an unhappy time when trying to reconnect with their homeland. This isn't surprising, since they just turned up out of the blue. However, it's also established that Dominic expects his wife to sort out everything; she even booked the hotel. Therefore, it shouldn't be surprising that their trip is an abject failure, and it's not just a form of karma from the other women in their family. He didn't prepare for anything because he's used to his wife doing it for him.
  • Albie makes a speech against the patriarchal elements of The Godfather in front of Portia, showing her how educated and progressive he is. In a later scene, after Portia has already dumped Albie for being too boring, she's shown wearing a The Godfather T-shirt she presumably picked up as a souvenir, showing that even when she was still accompanying Albie, she wasn't terribly impressed by his feminism.
  • Portia finds Albie to be a crashing bore and ignores him while Lucia, especially according to her actress, seemed genuinely charmed by him. This is easy to understand. Portia finds Albie to be uninteresting and unexciting while looking for someone exciting due to dealing with nice people all the time. Lucia, however, deals with scummy people and finds Albie's idealism refreshing.
  • It has been remarked upon that Tanya's behavior and reactions do not match the level of wealth she is revealed to have in Season 2, which amounts to almost 500 million dollars. This apparent disconnect makes a lot more sense when one remembers that as of the start of Season 1, Tanya's mother has just died, so it is almost certain that until very recently she has not had access to, or control of, any of the family fortune. It is very likely her mother’s emotional abuse extended to financial abuse and Tanya was kept on a very tight leash, money-wise, so she has never developed the instincts, attitudes or behavior characteristic of the extremely wealthy. Despite being born to money, for all practical purposes, Tanya is the equivalent of a recent lottery winner when it comes to handling it.

Fridge Horror

     Season One
  • Kai's life is over and even were he to turn on his confederate, she's already left the state.
  • The ending makes it clear Armond is/was completely replaceable along with any of the other staff. His replacement even looks like him.
  • A lot of people have theorized that Season 1 marks the end of Paula's relationship with Olivia. But presumably she and Kai both committed felonies, with longer statute of limitations. Since Olivia has proof that Paula committed that crime, she now has blackmail material to hold over Paula's head for years, and we know Olivia wants to destroy as many of Paula's relationships with other people as possible.

     Season Two
  • Ethan has already shown to have violence and jealousy issues in regards to Harper and Cameron. Now, suppose Harper and Cameron did sleep together. What happens if she ends up pregnant?
  • In addition to having her gold digging husband plot to kill her, then dying an Undignified Death after seemingly getting the best of her would be killers, but the investigation will almost certainly determine that Tanya went on a psychotic rampage and murdered everyone on the boat for no apparent reason. After all she’s going to have alcohol and cocaine in her system. Jack and Portia are the only confirmed people who knew what was going on and obviously Jack won’t tell since he’ll be implicated, and Portia has no proof. If Quenton’s friend who jumped off the boat survived obviously he’s not going to reveal there was a murder plot. If the Captain survived he will be telling the truth that it seemed like Tanya went nuts since he did not appear to be in on it. Tanya was a high-maintenance, neurotic narcissist, but she wasn't a bad person and doesn’t deserve all that
