• Common in The Slender Man Mythos. For the viewers, it's quite common to see a funny little patch of darkness in a video, that turns out to be Mr. Thin himself. For the characters, they often go over videos they record and discover that there's someone in there who wasn't there at the time...

Fridge Brilliance

• Slendy has always been sold as a child stalker, yet a lot of his modern victims seem to be in their mid-twenties or older; do the math.
  • In Canada, at least, people are still considered "youths" untill they hit 30.
    • Does this mean that Slender Man is Canadian then?
    • Of course he isn't! No one in canada is that skinny! We're Half-Grizzly bear lumberjacks that box on ice and our entire diet is maple syrup!
  • Not like this doesn't prove that his child-stalking days are over. Just because they aren't being recorded doesn't mean that they aren't happening
• How come all the works in the mythos have the protagonists evading the supposedly-invincible-omnipresent being for so long? Because everyone who wasn't good enough at evading him aren't there anymore to record their stories. Also explains why there's so many amateur works in the mythos that drop off really fast - they were the ones who lost.
  • Another explanation is that the reason he stalks them for so long, is because he thinks it is fun.
