  • The main colors in the film are gold (wealth and beauty, materialistic but hollow), white (truth and mortality), silver (space and stars), and green and red (nature, respectively life and death).
  • Each era has a different shape design for a motif: the past has triangular designs, the present has oblong (rectangle/square) designs and the future has circular designs. Each shape represents a specific aspect:
    • The triangle represents beginning (things usually begin in the past) and ascension (as in climbing up mountains/pyramids), which fits the Conquistador's quest.
    • The square represents reason and logic and practicality, qualities Tom shows as a scientist. However the shape is also a pointed, stark shape that offers no comfort or solace.
    • The circle represents infinity, as in eternity and immortality. However, endlessness can be an imprisonment and breaking the circle/loop can be a release.
