Fridge Brilliance

  • Why do the Berkians not know what a church is? It's established in some of the one-shots/sequels in the series that the magic storm transports travelers to a different time as well as a different location, explaining how the inhabitants of the Encanto (which is set in the late eighteenth-early nineteenth century) can meet members of Berk (which is set in circa 845). During the time of the Vikings, Christianity was still slowly spreading as a religion (with many Christians being killed on sight in some parts of the world). Thus, it makes sense that the Berkians (who clearly follow Norse mythology) would not know of parts of Christian culture.

Fridge Tearjerker

  • When Hiccup mentions that no one's cared about his birthday in years, Bruno has a look of sympathy/understanding. Did anyone even acknowledge Bruno's birthday during the time he was in the walls?
  • Astrid, before her Character Development, is shown to trust no one but her battle ax. This hints that Astrid, at the cost of becoming the strongest teen warrior on Berk, has a Friendless Background, as Vikings like Fishlegs, Stoick, Gobber, and even the twins are better in social situations than her.

Fridge Horror

  • Like in canon, the only teenagers we see on Berk are Hiccup (before he leaves), Astrid, Fishlegs, Snotlout, and the twins. For a population of at least one hundred, that's a pretty small generation. So what happened to the other kids born the same year as them? Well, given how often/deadly dragon raids were...
