Fridge / Starring Sally J. Freedman as Herself

  • Fridge Brilliance: Sally's mother Louise comes off as neurotic with her constant catastrophizing, afraid that every little thing is going to be dangerous or fatal to herself or her family. But it's easier to understand why she turned out this way when you take into account that Louise had a brother who died of sudden infant death syndrome. It happened before she was born, but it stands to reason she'd have heard about it, and probably quite young. That's bound to leave a scar on a child's psyche...the idea that someone, an infant no less, can die out of the blue for no apparent reason. The fact that she lost family members to the Holocaust in adult life probably contributed to her fears and anxieties as well.
