• "Of course I know it's wrong to kill. But who told you?" "I told me." Undoubtedly the very soul of the film in this exchange. The brilliance is, we saw that moment earlier in the film. "Squash, dead. Disassemble, dead. Disassemble? Dead!" In that moment, Johnny 5 realized he was alive and did not want to die. And if he was alive and did not want to die, logically other things which are alive do not want to die. Ergo, to make dead is wrong.
