What could be assumed to be a continuity error in the second film is the way Tackleberry's sidearm of choice changes from a Detonics Scoremaster to a Desert Eagle after his comparing of weapons with Kirkland. Kirkland tells Tack that "a .357 can crack the engine block of a truck," so he switches weapons on her advice.
Why does Sweetchuck join the police force in the third film? His business has been failing in the second film (he only has eight dollars for Zed's protection money). After the place gets wrecked, insurance probably doesn't cover it, so he needs a new line of work.
During the scene at the shooting range Barbara accidentally fired the shotgun and hits the wrong target. As he turns around in confusion, he aims the shotgun towards the onlookers who all duck except for Tackleberry. It could be assumed that Tackleberry has nerves of steel but as the shotgun was a pump action and Tack has an extensive knowledge of firearms, he was certain there was no danger of anyone being shot until Barbara recocked the gun.
