After her husband dies, Pocahontas doesn't seem to miss him too much. When John Smith returns to England, she's overjoyed to see him and completely forgets about her dead husband. Sure, the writing was leading Pocahontas to be with John Smith, but it just seems like Pocahontas never really loved her husband. There's a small part of the movie where it looks like she might be mourning, but then it cuts to the scene mentioned earlier.
