Fridge Brilliance

  • Why would the farmers want to pamper their ducks? Research shows that meat from well-treated animals tastes better than meat from animals that are not as well-treated.
  • None of the human characters talk. They grunt, scream, moan, cry, and in one case, sing, but they never actually talk. To the speaking characters, who are all birds, Humans Are Cthulhu, creatures beyond their comprehension, and they can't understand the complexities of human speech.

Fridge Horror

  • The final scene of the film comes across as this when the family of mallards, ready to fly back North for spring, agree to help a colony of penguins travel to the South Pole. During the Southern Hemisphere's autumn and winter, the majority of the frozen continent Antarctica does not see the sun above the horizon April through September. Additionally, the geographic South Pole is in complete darkness aside from moonlight May through August.
  • Delroy's whole situation is this. In New York state, whilst it is legal to own a macaw, it must be sourced from a registered breeder in the same city and the prospective owner must fill in a document - Delroy is wild-caught and is kept in a cage that is clearly too small for him. The Chef (who, considering the helicopter, is clearly wealthy enough to say Screw the Rules, I Have Money!), aside from neglecting Delroy for years, obtained him illegally.
  • On the topic of Delroy, just how long was he stuck in that cage?
