  • Unlike most entries in the series, Mega Man and Bass has their bosses react to what you think would be the least logical weapons in the game, with things such as the fire-based Wave Burner being the weakness of the water-based Pirate Man. However, some of these, if one gives it some thought, does make sense:
    • Cold Man being weak to Lightning Bolt is an example of his ice-coasted body being an excellent superconductor for electricity;
    • Burner Man's weakness being Ice Wall is not necessarily an example of fire being put out by cold temperatures, but more taking advantage of Boss-Arena Idiocy. Also, the fire that Burner Man spews will not have enough time to stop a column sliding rapidly towards him, and in fact, might actually be making it slide much faster towards him by attempting to melt it. On another note, many players who have obtained the weapon would easily tell you that it's a tragic example of Video Game Flamethrowers Suck, which is made more apparent with the boss' own inability to melt down an advancing ice wall.
    • Pirate Man is one that requires some explanation, since it seems really illogical, even by Mega Man standards, as to why a fire-based weapon such as Wave Burner would be the most effective in an underwater battle, especially since most fire-based weapons get heavily nerfed when your character is submerged. There is actually one example of fire being capable of burning in water- magnesium. If one was to assume that your flamethrower is magnesium-based, then it'd make perfect sense as to why Pirate Man reacts so poorly to it - that and the cache of Remote Mines hidden in his body would detonate under high temperatures.
    • Ground Man being weak to Remote Mine is a nod to land mines meant to detonate tanks once they get rolled over - and what does Ground Man turn into during the battle?
    • Tengu Man is another that requires some thought, because it seems really weird that the Spread Drill, a ground-based missile attack that sinks over time, is the weakness of an airborne opponent. It makes a little more sense if you think of the attack as a poor man's surface-to-air missile, weapons designed to destroy aircraft.
    • Magic Man being weak to Tengu Blade is a pun. What is one thing magicians do when performing card tricks? Cutting the cards. Also, if one were to consider the element and arena of the boss who wielded that attack and the Tornado Hold from Mega Man 8, it would make sense for card tricks to fare very poorly in excessively windy areas.
    • Astro Man being weak to Magic Card makes sense when you consider that objects such as playing cards can obscure light projectors if you place it in front of the lens. Also, there's a saying that goes that magic is unexplained science, so it's logical to think that the easily flustered Astro Man can't scientifically reason out why these magic playing cards are hurting him.
    • Dynamo Man being weak to Copy Vision is because not only can electricity pass safely through holograms, but also powers them as well. Also, given that solid holograms are being developed, it stands to reason that they have the potential to disrupt electrical devices.
