• How much of what happened to set up the current situation was created by Merlin and the Voices to make Owyn what they needed?
  • Some parts seem fairly clear-cut.
    • The Voices killed Emily's parents to make her what they needed her to be. Chloe showed up with the anti-tank rifle to kill the dragon just too late in both cases. Erec's death and Owyn's assumption of the Mantle was specifically set up by Chloe, the oldest Sorceress alive.
    • The Voices caused Molly to be a jerk to Emily to make her possessive of Owyn and drive her into his arms.
  • Some are less obvious and potentially even more horrifying. Some of these are questionable on whether the Voices caused these things, or just took advantage of the situation.
    • Did the Voices turn Lord Jerkow into a traitor? Did they make his older brother cuckold a Council Battlemage to get him killed off, leaving Emily unmarried for Owyn?
    • Did the Voices cause the owner of the King's Dragon to be a child abuser so that the Chosen could kill him and claim the pub?
    • Did the Voices cause Thor to take out Booker to become Owyn's professor, and then attempt to kill Owyn, pushing Emily fully into Owyn's bed while also giving Owyn Excalibur? Given the "The fire will burn, the hammer will fall" prophecy, it seems very likely that this was deliberate on their part.
• Owyn ponders this one himself - did his fit of anger against Sarah cause millions of deaths? Without her, would the initial blow have fallen against Mexico City the way it did, or would it have been a smaller initial incursion like in R2?
  • Alternately, without the destruction of Mexico City, would enough of the Outsiders have come through to allow the final battle to occur? Tying into the above, did the Voices make him angry in order to cause those millions of deaths?
