Fridge Brilliance
- Why does King Dedede speak with a Southern accent in the English dub? Because he's a penguin! He's from the South Pole!
- Kirby is all cute and cuddly because he was woken up 200 years too early. People keep saying that if he'd slept like he should have, he would have become the most powerful warrior in the galaxy. Kirby and Meta Knight are the same species. So, what other member of that species do we know of with a pink body who is regarded as the most powerful warrior in the galaxy? Kirby was supposed to become Galacta Knight.
- Speaking of 200 years too early, Meta Knight explains the reason behind his Stealth Mentor tactics as being that Kirby would grow stronger at a faster rate if he's constantly thrown into the heat of battle. So why doesn't he also train Kirby when there are no monsters to fight? Shouldn't he be focusing on getting stronger than hanging out with Tiff and Tuff? It's because Kirby's technically a child, and Meta Knight wants him to have as normal of a childhood as possible.
- So Galacta Knight is actually Kirby from the future, huh? Then what does that mean about Morpho Knight from Kirby Star Allies? He was that butterfly who was always landing on Kirby’s head throughout the Kirby video game series, right?
- So does that mean the butterfly has a grudge against Kirby or something?
- According to the lore in the Japanese version, no. The butterfly fused with him to satisfy his desire for an otherwise impossibly good fight.
- Dedede's bastardization of the theme song in the English version of episode 49 actually has ground; many people watch this anime specifically for him and his mannerisms. He really is the king of the show!
- Also an advertisement appears right in the middle of Dedede's opening. It may just seem like a random detail, but it makes perfect sense. Dedede is a pretty greedy character, so of course he would sneak in a commercial for ad revenue.
- Unlike Tiff, Tuff is more willing to try out the attractions created by Dedede since he just wants to have fun. However when he builds the amusement park, both Tiff and Tuff are sure that it's another trap. Consider that every one of Dedede's plans so far all turned out to be just ploys to defeat Kirby. Tuff has become as skeptical as his sister regarding Dedede. The same can't be said for the other Cappies, who have a constant case of Aesop Amnesia.
- In Episode 45 and 46, Tiff and Tuff are shown to be scared by the ghosts, fake and real. Seems strange considering that both went through several life-or-death situations right? Well, they are kids. Their minds are still that of ones. And the fear of ghosts is very common in kids. Even Tiff, despite being a Child Prodigy, is still a child so even she can be scared.
- The Ho Yay moments between Dedede and Escargoon make more sense if you consider the following: snails are hermaphrodites (read: have both genders), meaning that Escargoon is trans.
- Kirby is shown not to have teeth in the dentist episode. Makes sense, considering Kirby is outright stated to be a baby. They probably haven't grown in yet.
Fridge Horror
- You know, if Kirby hadn't been around in Episode 39 where Erasem made everyone forget who Escargoon is, he might have headed to the ocean for a different reason...
- Nightmare Enterprises' staff outside of robots features a salesman who is perfectly fine selling dangerous beasts to a king who usually can't control them, pervy animators who stalk a kid, a teacher stuck in a bad job, and some smaller beasts like Fofa who didn't even want to be a part of this. What kind of workplace does NME run up there!?
- Nightmare went from just a guy who makes bad dreams to an Evil Overlord with a vast army, Dedede tends to be a lot nastier towards Kirby than his game counterpart, and while he hasn't tried to take over Dreamland, Meta Knight's got a lot more emotional baggage here. Assuming they all have counterparts here too, what are the other antagonists like in this anime's world? Dark Matter? 0? Marx? Drawcia? Dark Meta Knight? Magolor? Taranza and Sectonia? Susie and Max Haltmann? The Jambastion Cult? Fecto Forgo?
- Speaking of Dark Meta Knight, the fact he's Meta Knight's reflection means that Meta Knight sees himself as a monster because of the deaths of Knuckle Joe's father and Garlude. This makes Joe and Sirica's accusations much sadder, especially if you're a Meta Knight fan.
- Tiff and Tuff are children. And Dedede and his monsters tried to kill them several times. Moral Event Horizon anyone?
