Fridge / Headless: A Sleepy Hollow Story

WARNING! Unmarked Spoilers Below'

Fridge Brilliance

  • The Sleepy Hollow history play, while inaccurate, has several moments of foreshadowing that are brilliant in hindsight:
    • The play depicts Henry Hudson as the town founder, and shows him getting killed by a mutiny (which is Truth in Television). While the true town founder really was killed by a mutiny, Henrietta is the one who suffered.
    • Cal wears a red wig as Henrietta, foreshadowing that the real Henrietta Hudson also has red hair.
    • Tripp, as Ambrose Van Tassel, mimics the famous Richard Nixon v-sign pose. Nixon was an infamous politician who was caught trying to sabotage his competition, leading to his downfall. This foreshadows that Baltus Van Tassel, Ambrose's descendent, is also a politician who gets caught trying to sabotage his competition, leading to his downfall.
  • The sleeping ivy is highlighted twice in "The Star on the Stage" - once in a closeup and once when Max Lee tries to smoke it. In addition, Kat is the one who notices Max smoking the ivy, while Matilda is the one to preserve it.

Fridge Horror

  • How did Paulie Tahoe or Gravy Davy Crowbones die?
  • What exactly did Jonathan Oldstyle do to Diedrich that his newly-discovered body was already unrecognizable to Judy?
  • More of a Fridge Tearjerker, but based on the final Unsolved Babesteries, Elizabeth Van Tassel might still be haunting Raven Rock as the Woman in White. She was right there, and Kat never knew. Even if Elizabeth was ever freed from her curse, her daughter is dead and her husband is in jail. What would she have to come back to?
