- Notice the horizontal line of light in the background of the logo? On the ranking screens, that line lines up with the #1 score◊.
- Why is the PC port of the arcade port subtitled World Ignition? Because it's intended to be a WORLDwide release of the arcade version, which is Japan-only.
- You don't know anything about why you're fighting the bad guys or who these mechanical aliens are; during the whole game it's never explained or even touched upon...but of course it isn't. It might be that the whole world was on the verge of being taken over, and you're probably the last soldier left alive—or at least your tiny flight of fighters—and on a suicide mission. You don't know anything because you're a faceless grunt in a last ditch Hail Mary attack against a vastly numerically superior opponent in what could likely be (by your commander's reckoning) a final hurrah for the entire species. You know nothing because it doesn't matter whether you know what's going on or not: unless you come back alive (i.e. defeat the enemy), there will be no more future left for anyone. It's not just an Excuse Plot; it's utter desperation.
