Spyfail is a 2014 low-budget film written and directed by John Quigley.
A parody of James Bond and spy movies in general, the plot deals with MI7 agent Tom Tucker following the trail of a stolen nuclear missile with the help of mercenary Deb L'Entendre and CIA agent Harley Davidson.
This film provides examples of:
- Accidental Truth: Ajax reveals a little too much about his relationship with Tucker's mum.
- Action Girl: Deb. She puts every single guy in the film to shame.
- Affectionate Parody: Of the James Bond films. The writer/director said they're a huge fan of the franchise, particularly the Roger Moore films. Features references to: GoldenEye, Moonraker, Die Another Day, The World Is Not Enough, Licence to Kill and ''Goldfinger.
- The Alleged Car: Tom's Renault Clio.
- Almost Kiss: Hilariously at the climax of the film. Tom makes a huge speech about their plan, Deb leans in for a kiss and... Tom gives her a "Go Get 'Em" tap on the jaw.
- Big Bad: Warren Peace
- Credits Gag: "Worst Boy: Joseph Stalin", "Mr Powell's Divorce Lawyer"
- Crouching Moron, Hidden Badass: Despite Tom being bottom of the MI7 roster, he occasionally shows flashes of skill, such as shooting a henchman from 50ft away with a pistol.
- Empty Quiver: The plot focuses on the theft of a Nuclear Missile by Warren Peace.
- Flashback: The entire pre-credits sequence is a flashback.
- Ham-to-Ham Combat: The scenes between Tom and Warren Peace, both actors taking it up to 11.
- Honorary Uncle: Ajax to Tom.
- Ooh, Me Accent's Slipping: John Gillon occasionally slips into scouse instead of American. Averted at the end, when it's revealed Harley isn't even American.
- Punny Name: Deb L'Entendre, Warren Peace, Harley Davidson, Miss Chievous.
