The Reunion Show of Kaizoku Sentai Gokaiger. It premiered in Japanese cinemas on November 12, 2021 and released for homes on March 9, 2022.

Ten years have passed since the Gokaigers defeated the Zangyack Empire. Now, Earth has moved on with a recently developed gambling derby colosseum apparently involving all members of every single Super Sentai team. However, the Gokaigers are not among those combatants; they were disbanded long before the derby was ever developed, with the team's leader, Captain Marvelous, announcing his intention to join the brawl for a bounty and Gai Ikari working with the Ministry of Defence. Amidst the chaos generated by Marvelous's startling challenge, the swashbuckling team may have to face jaw-dropping revelations concerning the derby when they reunite with one another and cross paths with some familiar faces, and there may be more to their fates than meets the eye...

Tropes:

  • Actor Allusion:
    • Kaoruko Ishii and Rara Shimizu, who portrayed the original child versions of Mio Natsume/ToQ 3gou and Kagura Izumi/ToQ 5gou appear as a pair of normal high school girls here, wearing yellow and pink respectively.
    • The commentators of the Derby Colosseum, Akiro Masukoda and Hiroya Matsumoto get a few of these as well.
      • Hiroya keeps calling Akiro "Bascoda". Kei Hosogai, Akiro's actor, previously portrayed Basco in Gokaiger itself.
      • Hiroya sheds tears of disappointment upon watching Beet Buster and Magi Yellow defeated, having previously portrayed the both of them. Their opponents? Battle Kenya and Denji Blue, who both similarly share the same actor between themselves.
  • Bait-and-Switch:
    • The whole film centers around the Gokaigers Breaking the Fellowship. Except they aren't - they're luring out the villains that want to abuse the Ranger Keys.
    • We're led to believe Marvelous lost his eye during the Galleon's destruction. Come the Mid-Credits scene, it's revealed he just got an eye infection.
  • Big Bad Duumvirate: The Minister of Defense and Captain Badley, leader of the Bakut Pirates. Both desire to build an army using the Sentai keys to conquer the universe, though of the two it's Badley who's the de facto main threat.
  • Big Damn Heroes: Twice.
    • Joe saves Gai and Niwano from Ranger Key Clones sent to kill them after their Heel Realization.
    • They return the favor by arming Marvelous and Ahim with reclaimed Red Ranger Keys during a bout of their own.
  • Breaking the Fellowship: Played With. Gai learns from Don that the destruction of the Gokai Galleon caused the Gokaigers to drift apart. Later on, it's revealed they only pretended to break apart so they could more easily infiltrate the Derby Colosseum goings-on.
  • Broken Pedestal: Gai and Marvelous come to blows over the Derby Colosseum's use of the Ranger Keys. Then it's revealed Gai wasn't in on the pirates' Failure Gambit and actually thought they'd washed their hands of Earth.
  • Call-Back: Among them are:
    • Niwano, the developer of the Derby Colosseum System, is revealed to be the young boy that stole the Shinken Red key from Marvelous all the way back in Episode 2. When the boy has a Heroic BSoD when he realizes he's been working for the bad guys all along, he has a similar conversation with Marvelous like he did way back in that episode.
    • The technology used in the Derby Colosseum System was reverse-engineered from Basco's special Ranger Key-summoning trumpet.
    • It turns out the Gokaigers never did pick up Navi back when they left her on earth back in Zyuohger.
    • The story ends with the Gokaigers returning the Ranger Keys and going out for curry, just like in the last episode of their series.
  • The Caper: Heroic example, but has all the elements of one. Realizing the Bakut Pirates are attempting to weaponize the Ranger Keys and destroy Earth, the Gokaigers fake a break-up to keep themselves inconspicuous. Ahim makes her way to Crystalia and grifts Takamichi out of the Shield of Veritas. Luka fakes a Face–Heel Turn and "turns in" Marvelous so he can insert himself into the Derby to distract the Committee (and the Locked Out of the Loop Gai) from Don's snooping. Joe saves Gai and Niwano when their consciences gets the better of them, allowing Luka to pose as a reporter and use the Shield (alongside Don, who stayed behind as a "hostage" to work the wiretaps) to expose the Pirates' scheme to the public. With the Derby demolished, the Gokaigers can battle the Bakut Pirates openly and reclaim the power of the Super Sentai.
  • Counterpart Combat Coordination: The Derby Colosseum sets up fights between combatants that share a theme:
    • DynaBlack vs. NinjaWhite vs. Shurikenger vs. AkaNinger (ninjas)
    • Red Turbo vs. Pink Racer vs. Blue Flash vs. Blue Mask vs. Ginga Yellow vs. Kyoryu Green (superspeed)
    • Battle Kenya and DenziBlue vs. Beet Buster and MagiYellow (shared civilian actors)
    • KingRanger vs. Shinken Gold vs. FiveBlack (kanjis)
  • Discard and Draw: The Gokai Galleon is destroyed at the beginning of the movie, naturally taking GokaiOh with it. Its remains are eventually converted into the Gokai Galleon Key, giving the all the Gokaigers sans Gai access to unique Cross Armor Modes as well as an extra Galleon Armor Mode for Marvelous.
  • Distant Sequel: The film was released 10 years following the premiere of Gokaiger.
  • Evil All Along: The Derby Committee turns out to be the main villains of the film. The Minister of Defense wants to use the power of the Ranger Keys to take over other alien planets, while his associates turn out to be a group of alien pirates that were behind the destruction of the Gokai Galleon.
  • Eyepatch of Power: Captain Marvelous wears one now due to an eye infection.
  • Failure Gambit: The Gokaigers' disbanding after the loss of their ship was an elaborate con that allowed them to look into the Sentai Colosseum discretely.
  • Fighting Your Friend: Marvelous and Gai clash for the Ranger Keys now held by the Derby Committee.
  • The Infiltration:
    • Don's discovery of the Super Sentai Derby Colosseum is later revealed to have been an opportunity to plant wiretaps on the Derby's committee which would come in handy later.
    • Outed as the modus-operandi of the Man Behind the Man: The Bakut Pirates stick themselves into a planet's government and destroy it from the inside-out.
  • Is This Thing Still On?: The Derby Committee outs itself as an invasion force thanks to Luka and Don using the Shield Of Veritas and various wiretaps to expose their scheming to the masses.
  • Land, Sea, Sky: One battle is after rangers that based on sea creatures (VulShark and GaoBlue), a flying animal (PteraRanger) and land beasts (GekiRed and Yellow Lion).
  • Locked Out of the Loop: Gai was on Earth during the Bakut Pirates' assault on the Gokai Galleon, remaining entirely in the dark on the team's (apparent) fracture. This is why he takes up arms against Marvelous.
  • Man Behind the Man: The Bakut Pirates infiltrate the government and use the idea of the Super Sentai Derby Colosseum to stoke the Defense Minister's xenophobia in the hopes he'll get Earth destroyed trying to invade another world.
  • Obfuscating Stupidity: Don's entire "tour" of the Derby Coliseum sees him acting ditzier than usual (saying a lot for the team Butt-Monkey); culminating with the revelation that he sold his Ranger Key. He was in fact prodding the Derby for clues and planting wiretaps. He'd given his Key to Luka well in-advance.
  • The Paralyzer: Otorika has a hand in the wave that incapacitates Marvelous during his fight with Gai. This is because she's the Bakut Pirate Rem in disguise. Luka and Ahim are on the receiving end later, though it doesn't really take.
  • Poor Communication Kills: Gai and Marvelous' battle is the result of The Gokaigers never bothering to let Gai in on their Failure Gambit, leading him to think Marvelous stopped caring about protecting Earth.
  • Reunion Show: Reunites the six Gokaigers for the first time since their guest appearance in Doubutsu Sentai Zyuohger five years prior.
  • Well-Intentioned Extremist: The Minister of Defense is tired of Earth being invaded by aliens so he decided to use the keys to invade the aliens first.
