555 is a 1988 American Slasher Movie. It concerns a necrophiliac Serial Killer who strikes on the first five days of every fifth May.
This film contains examples of:
- Amoral Attorney: The assistant DA is the serial killer our heroes have been trying to catch.
- Big Bad: Assistant DA Ralph Kennedy is the Butcher.
- The Butcher: The killer is nicknamed the "Lake Front Butcher" by the press.
- Depraved Bisexual: The Lake Front Butcher mostly rapes the female corpses of his kills, but he does make out with a male severed head in one scene.
- Event Title: The title doesn't refer to the the fake telephone number, but rather to the Regularly Scheduled Evil.
- Fan Disservice: Almost all the nudity in the film is immediately before or during a murder scene.
- Horror Doesn't Settle for Simple Tuesday: May Day.
- I Love the Dead: The Butcher rapes his female victims after he kills them.
- Ms. Fanservice: Susan likes to Show Some Leg and is the only character in the film to bare her breasts when not dying.
- Never the Obvious Suspect: The cops initially suspect their only witness, a retired Army colonel who returned to America at about the same time the killings started after being horribly tortured and psychologically scarred. It's actually the assistant DA.
- New-Age Retro Hippie: The Butcher disguises himself as a hippie who walked right out of the '60s, despite the fact that the film is set in the '80s.
- Short Titles: Three digits.
- The Sociopath: Ralph Kennedy, a necrophiliac Serial Killer who offs five couples every fifth May.
- Villain Opening Scene: The Butcher chopping up a couple.
