That moment where Vice Ganda takes his stand-up act to a carny setting.

Fantastica is a 2018 film which features an All-Star Cast composed of Vice Ganda, Jacklyn Jose, Dingdong Dantes, Richard Guttierez, Bela Padilla, MC Calaquiyan, Lassy Marquez, Donny Panglinan, Ronnie Alonte, Edward Barber, Kisses Delavin, Loisa Andallo, Maymay Entrata, Chokoleit, Juliana Parizgova Segovia, Johhny Revilla and Bella Padilla.

The proprietor of a struggling carnival named Perya Wurtzbach Belat Padilla was tasked by a prince named Pryce (get it?) to find three princesses of the magical land called Fantastica. The princesses was warped to Earth separately, where the main cast must track them down to help save Fantastica, but eventually lived regular lives there alongside Belat's adopted siblings. But an evil spreads on the knight's land, and the land's buyer Dong Nam (later his sibling Gang Nam) was on their throats. The mission's cover was to revive the carnival/fair to lure the princesses. Also something about portals being opened with 10,000 claughters (clapping and laughter).

The movie was released as an entry to the 2018 Metro Manila Film Festival on December 25, 2018.

The movie contains these following tropes:

  • Actor Allusion:
    • Pefecta tells Belat that she won an award in Cannes. The real Jacklyn Jose won an award in Cannes, but in acting instead of perforing in a circus.
    • When Fairy Godmother manages to conquer Fantastica, she tells the princesses that they are in a "Scene of the Crime". Her voice actor, Gus Abelgas is known for hosting "SOCO: Scene of the Crime Operatives".
    • Perfecta was surprised about learning Cubbylyn and Chakalyn's last names. Guess who played Perfecta again?
  • Aerith and Bob: Some of the supporting characters have normal first names and nicknames like Perfecta, Jun-Jun, and Pepe. And then, there's the likes of the main cast like Belat, Pryce, Dong, Gang (while 2 syllable Korean Names are normal, neither Dong nor Gang were common) Chubbylyn and Chakalyn.
  • Anachronism Stew:
    • The carnival Perya Wurzbach, which was existed as early as late 90s-early 2000s in flashbacks, was named after Pia Wurzbach, who got famous for winning the 2015 Miss Universe pageant.
    • One of its stalls, Justin Bibe, was named after Justin Bieber who earned viral popularity in the mid-2000s for his covers of R&B songs and achieved international stardom in the 2010s.
    • When Perfecta is performing an acrobatic stunt, both Chubbylyn and Chakalyn were narrating the sequence using computer monitors from the late 2010s.
  • As Himself: Atty. Jose Sison, in a Self-Parody of his Ipaglaban Mo! legal advice program.
  • Berserk Button: Do not call Dong "pogi". He'll beat the living shit out of everyone for that.
  • Big Bad: Fairy Godmother, an evil witch who amassed an army to conquer Fantastica, put its King under her spell, and its princesses were banished to Earth, a place with "no happy endings".
  • The Cameo: Marian Rivera and Sarah Lahbati appear as Pryce and Dong's Imagine Spot where Belat is falling from a stunt gone wrong. Lawyer and TV host Atty. Jose Sison of Ipaglaban Mo! fame also appears during the film's climax where he gave mock legal advice as a play on his usual public service role.
  • Deadpan Snarker: Perfecta. For added bonus, she's played by Jacklyn Jose who usually plays this trope whether as the protagonist or a villain.
  • Freudian Excuse: The reason why Fairy Godmother is pissed off at Amarillo is that he ditches her daughter for an Earthling (revealed to be Perfecta) which lead to her implied suicide and venegeance against him and Fantastica's denizens.
  • Irony:
    • Dong was pissed off when someone calls him "pogi", yet he's played by Mr. Fanservice Dingdong Dantes.
    • Chokoleit's character is Beauty, but he's the source of Squick moments of the movie and looks Gonk-ish.
  • Non-Actor Vehicle: News anchor and host Gus Abelgas was cast to voice the Fairy Godmother on the basis of his distinctive raspy voice which has often been imitated by comedians in the Philippines.
  • Punny Name: This movie lacked sense in naming major characters. There's the main character, Belat Padilla. And other major and supporting like Prince Pryce, Gang Nam, and Chubbylyn and Chakalyn Jose.
  • Saving the Orphanage: Prince Pryce tells Belat that he has to get 10,000 palakhaks (claps and laughters) in order for the portal to work properly and bring the Carnival back to its heyday. They achieved it once the Carnival was successful because of the combined efforts of Belat, Pryce, Dong, and Belat's adopted and real siblings and Fairy Godmother was defeated by awakening Belat's 11th-Hour Superpower.
  • Vocal Dissonance: Fairy Godmother, who is attractive, has the voice of a raspy old man.
  • What Happened to the Mouse?: Fairy Mother's daughter was not seen again after she was ditched by Amarillo. It was implied that she got Driven to Suicide which lead Fairy Godmother to conquer Fantastica and making its citizens her slaves.
