Maya is an unhappy artist still living at home who dreams of attending art school in Italy. She soon meets her online crush, Jasmine, who's also attracted to her, overjoying Maya. They become a couple, but Maya is unaware that Jasmine is also the sugar baby to an older man at the same time Maya's father comes back into her life, and things soon become very, very complicated with them.

- Ambiguously Absent Parent: Jasmine's father is not mentioned or seen. Given her mother is indicated to be promiscuous and flighty, it's probable he's not involved with her life.

In an unusual example, Maya is actually Simon's daughter. Once he learns about them, Simon ends his relationship with Jasmine though she begs him not to. He's seeing Jasmine, who's Maya's age, as his sugar baby who roleplays as a young girl. Maya, horrified by this, is implied to have ended contact with him by the end of the film.
