Cyborg Soldier is a 2008 American science fiction action film starring Tiffani Thiessen and Bruce Greenwood.

ISAAC is a cyborg Super-Soldier created by a clandestine organization from a death row inmate. Desperate to not be a tool of the group, he escapes. As he's pursued by his creators, he ends up dragging a young deputy along on his adventure. Can the two escape with their lives?


This film contains examples of:

  • Action Prologue: ISAAC escaping from his creators.
  • Big Bad: Dr. Simon Hart, ISAAC's creator who is leading the effort to recapture him.
  • Big Eater: When ISAAC and Lindsey stop at a diner, ISAAC orders every item on the menu's second page. This is after dumping a container of sugar into his mouth.
  • Frame-Up:
    • Beck steals Lindsey's gun and leaves it at the scene of another murder he committed.
    • Beck kills Wesley Hall's entire family and Hart frames him for it so that they can experiment on him.
  • Good All Along:
    • It seems like security expert Miss Frasier is just as ruthless as the rest of the baddies, but as soon as innocents start getting hurt she berates Hart for being so ruthless.
    • Initially Wesley Hall, ISAAC's old identity, is thought to be a death row inmate who killed his entire family. However, it's revealed he was framed by Hart.
  • Greater-Scope Villain: Both Frasier and Hart mention investors that bankrolled the ISAAC experiments for their own ends, but they never show up.
  • He-Man Woman Hater: Hart says he doesn't trust women in power.
  • The Hero Dies: ISAAC blows up the bad guys' base with himself inside.
  • I Cannot Self-Terminate: Subverted. Hart programmed ISAAC to be unable to kill himself, but he defies his programming to kill them both.
  • Job Title
  • Legally Dead: Wesley Hall was declared killed in a prison escape so he could be made into ISAAC.
  • Literal-Minded: ISAAC was programmed to not have any knowledge nor interest in metaphors or sarcasm. The only non-literal thing he comprehends is that people can lie.
  • The Men in Black: Beck and his agents are like this, being utterly ruthless in their attempts to cover up ISAAC's existence. However, instead of black suits they war black leather jackets and jeans.
  • Nanomachines: ISAAC has nanobots in his bloodstream that give him a Healing Factor strong enough to be borderline Immune to Bullets.
  • No Social Skills: ISAAC was specifically programmed to have his social skills removed and only focus on survival an his mission.
  • Pater Familicide: Before he became ISAAC, Wesley Hall was put on death row for killing his entire family. However, it turns out Beck did it and Hart framed him.
  • Protagonist Title
  • Trading Bars for Stripes: Hart plans on converting prisoners into cyborgs on a mass scale.
