- Synopsis: Short stories that take place pre-canon to provide backstories for the cast hailing from Colony 9. Most are based either on fan suggestions or Heart-to-Hearts with Shulk, Reyn, and Fiora being anywhere from five to fifteen, and Dunban being seventeen to twenty-seven in age. All are G Rated, yes even one Dickson and Mumkhar show up in.

- Synopsis: The untold story of the legendary guardian of Satorl Marsh. Think he was just a random filler boss with no backstory or plot significance? Think again!
- Comments: An off-beat, hilarious crack fic that explains how exactly this bird boss came to be. Integrates into the main plot. One of the funniest and most interesting Xenoblade fics I've ever read.

- Synopsis: In which there is a great disturbance in the Passage of Fate and Alvis finds himself going to Great Lengths to stop it. Featuring a healthy dose of spoilers for both games, mocking various characters, and poking fun at RPGs & fanfiction in general.
- Comments: A short, breezy parody fic about Alvis trying to prod Shulk into completing the game. Shulk, however, is distraught at having missed several time-sensitive sidequests and is in the midst of a breakdown.

An attack devastated the lives of both Titans, leaving them all with more wounds than any would like to admit. But a shaky peace was found, in the middle of what was now known as Sword Valley. The leader of the Machina and the last of the giants came to an agreement; Zanza would be forever locked away, and they would live their own lives. Sword Valley would be neutral territory, only the Mechon on it allowed to remain. For if anyone from the Bionis or the Machina were to step foot on it, the peace would be broken. The distance would be closed and the curse of Zanza would rear its ugly head once more. And it seemed the savant Egil, his sister Vanea, and the doctor Linada would be the ones to see the distance close."
- Comments: A role swap fic where Egil is the protagonist! In this fic, Egil got help before it was too late, and never tried to destroy the Bionis. The writer does an excellent job of fleshing out characters like Alvis or Linada, and makes Egil feel both in character, yet also their own take. Give it a read!

- The Restoration by The Rose Duelist

- Synopsis: Since the Fall, Empress Melia Antiqua's primary and only concern is the restoration of the High Entia civilization to it former glory. But when the hero Dunban volunteers his services, a series of events are set in motion that force her to realize that things will never be the same.
- Comments:
- Shinialene: A beautifully written post-game story that delves into Melia's struggles as the Empress restoring Alcamoth to it's former glory after 'the Fall'. The characterization is immensely well done - it feels seamless to transition to reading the fic after the game, and the plot is fantastic with political drama and struggles leading to various twists intertwined with the sweeter (and angsty at times, too...) bits of very naturally developed romance. An absolute joy to read.
- tooshytobeoffanon: A wonderful post-game fanfiction about Melia and Dunban’s romance, as well as the trials Melia faces restoring High Entia society. Has wonderful OCs, terrific character interactions, and an amazing plot! Please do check it out.
