  • Recommended by CommanderVisor

The Survival Trials by RadicalCat

  • Recommended by fsdfsdfsd
  • Status: Dormant
  • Synopsis: The Ghost crew complete a mission at a terrible cost. Ezra finds himself being funneled through the slave system, & becoming a sacrificial candidate in The Survivalist Trial- an underground death match, broadcast on the holonet. Now Ezra must use his survival skills & adapt to the kill or be killed mentality of the Trials. Can the Ghost crew find him in time?
  • Comments: Essentially what happens when someone takes the basic idea of The Hunger Games and imports the fight-to-the-death aspect into the Star Wars universe, without doing a copy-paste of the Hunger Games. As RadicalCat puts it "Its not so much a crossover, as Hunger Game elements in the Rebels universe."

Shall We Keep Moving And Destroy Barriers?, by PermianExtinction

  • Recommended by CommanderVisor
  • Status: Complete
  • Synopsis: Captain Rae Sloane, fresh off the events of the Gorse conflict, locks horns with ISB Agent Kallus, fresh off the Lasan massacre.
  • Comments: This fic feels like something straight out of official material. I very much enjoyed the chemistry between Sloane and Kallus, they have their own motivations that the other isn't completely aware of/understands while we as the audience do. I liked that Kallus was still as professional as he is in the main show except that because the Siege of Lasan had just happened, there's touches of some "vulnerableness" (for lack of a better word) sprinkled here and there, some of those sprinkles being harder to see if you're not paying attention. I especially loved a certain exchange between our two favorite officers a little before transitioning to the last scene, which I think you can guess when you check out the fic yourself.

Tales from the Far Far Away: Volume II - Touching Darkness & Ronin

  • Recommended by CommanderVisor
  • Status: Complete
  • Synopsis: A series of short stories by different authors and illustrators, revolving around different characters throughout the timeline.
    • Touching Darkness: Prior to the events of Rebels and years after Ahsoka, Ahsoka teams up with fellow Order 66 survivor Quinlan Vos to fight a mysterious masked Dark-side user with loyalties to the Empire.
    • Ronin: Shortly after Order 66, the Sentinel continues to follow the light against the tyranny that is the Empire.
  • Comments: Similarly, these two fics feel almost straight out of official material. My only qualms that sort of took me out of the experience are that Tarkin acts too smug in Ronin, the Sentinel's Face–Heel Turn seemed to be rather immediate in-universe, and I kind of found it jarring (for lack of a better word) that Vos is alive post-Order 66 and seemingly shows up out of nowhere when Ahsoka decides to meet with him with no hints towards how he survived, so I felt like it was kind of an Ass Pull/Deus ex Machina of some sort. But otherwise, these are good interpretations of what's been going on with Ahsoka and the Sentinel before we saw them in Rebels, and it's worth checking out.

All Cham wants to do is to bring his long-missing child home to what remains of her family, but he soon finds that Hera Syndulla is only interested in two things: her duty to the Empire and her loyalty to her crew, a mismatched collection of outcasts brought together by Hera and her pet Inquisitor. With Cham and the Rebel agent known as Fulcrum in pursuit, a new mission takes Hera and the crew of the Ghost to the planet Lothal, where a chance meeting with a Force-sensitive teenager awakens something long buried in the Inquisitor once known as Kanan Jarrus...and has dire consequences for Hera, their crew, the Empire, and the fledgling Rebel Alliance.

The Goal Is Not To Fall, by White_Rainbow

  • Recommended by Kereea, CommanderVisor
  • Status: Complete
  • Synopsis: Kallus doesn’t want to fall…and yet every time he receives another message from Garazeb Orrelios the world falls away. There is no Empire, no Rebellion, there is just a human and a Lasat finding some way to connect. He doesn’t know where this will lead or how this will end, he will just take it one message at a time.
  • Pairing: Kallus x Zeb, background Thrawn x Veers
  • Comments: Primarily Kallus POV with a little Zeb. Does an amazing job of filling in the spaces not seen in episodes via Zeb and Kallus' post-Bahryn long-distance friends-to-more relationship and Kallus' journey from merely questioning the Empire to becoming the new Fulcrum. Portrays Kallus' character in a very good way by taking into account his intelligence officers' training and how that affects his actions. Thrawn is delightfully nerve-wracking in his scenes and Zeb's dialogue for the communications he has with Kallus is great. Follows The Stations of the Canon, and is thus far through "An Inside Man".

Children of the Force by HLine

  • Recommended by fsdfsdfsd
  • Status: Complete, with a sequel in progress
  • Synopsis: Anakin didn't fall, but Order 66 still happened. Now there are only remnants of the Jedi Order remain, seemingly paralyzed by grief and fear - leaving many vulnerable to the Dark Side and the Sith. Kanan Jarrus very carefully doesn't pay any attention to this; he has his team, and that's all he needs. He left the Jedi behind a long time ago. But the Force won't let its children go so easily, especially not so many still need his help.
