- Synopsis: An epistolary re-telling of Sense and Sensibility where the friendship between Elinor Dashwood and Colonel Brandon develops into a romance.
- Pairings: Elinor Dashwood/Colonel Brandon, Marianne Dashwood/Willoughby
- Comments: A delightful retelling, with a couple very similar in temperament. Owing to those cooler heads, it should please those who prefer most conflict in a story to come from outside of the main couple's relationship.
Mansfield Park
- Recommended by: Pthalo
- Status: Complete
- Synopsis: A chance remark reminds Henry Crawford to do the right thing, and ride to Everingham instead of staying in London to flirt with Maria Rushworth. As a result, there is nothing to prevent Edmund from marrying Mary Crawford, or Henry from continuing his pursuit of Fanny with more determination than ever.
- Pairings: Fanny Price/Henry Crawford, Edmund Bertram/Mary Crawford
- Comments: A fic that gives both Henry Crawford and Fanny the room to grow. The characters are remarkably true to the novel, which is what really makes it work. Henry is flawed but is willing to change for Fanny, and Fanny learns not to judge people so harshly and realizes her own pride, which make them both much more likeable as characters.
- Seconded by laapricot: This fic definitely shows how they grow, as well as how marriage does not mean the end of development for the characters!
- Enthusiastically seconded by AutumnLeaves. The fic captures the Austen atmosphere very beautifully, and it’s long and detailed enough for the romance to develop in a plausible way.

- Synopsis: Fanny returns home from Portsmouth early and Tom dies. The fates of Edmund, Mary, Henry, and Fanny are all changed in this variation novel that explores what might have been.
- Pairings: Fanny Price/Henry Crawford, Edmund Bertram/Mary Crawford
- Comments: A beautifully written variation that very realistically explores what might have happened if Henry resisted Maria and Tom died, leaving Edmund and Mary able to marry with both love and wealth.
