Coldangel_1

  • Recommended by SonicPanther
  • Coldangel's stories are long, but are as epic as Futurama fanfics come while still keeping everyone perfectly in character. Be forewarned, he really likes violence. And Fry/Leela.

The Sophisticated Shut In

  • Recommended by: ThisIsRidiculous
  • Synopsis: They write truly excellent Fry/Leela stories

    General Fics
Stories focused on the family and the friendly relationships of the cast. Plot-focused stories or light day-in-the-life stories. Pretty much anything that isn't focused on romance.

Break Away by Benderine

  • Recommended by: Hyphae
  • Status: Complete
  • Synopsis: It's been one year since Bender died but as long as Fry doesn't move on, he'll keep on seeing Bender wherever he goes.

Rush moon by Just Nibblin

  • Recommended by Moberemk Odafangirl
  • Status: Dead (last updated April 2017)
  • Synopsis: Fry wakes up in a dumpster only to find it's one year later, and the life he knew is gone. He'd got to Leela for help...if she wasn't so dead-set on blasting him right off the planet for reasons he doesn't know.
  • Comments: Easily one of the best Futurama fanfics out there, and one of the better fanfics I've gotten the chance to read period.

Disillusionment by soylentOrange

  • Recommended by Moberemk
  • Status: Complete
  • Synopsis: What if, at the end of "The Cryonic Woman", Fry actually did lose his job?
  • Comments: It starts out as a basic what-if scenario that happens to take a deep look at Fry's character. And then things get weird... Better than it sounds, with good characters and an interesting yet highly convoluted plot.

Prison of Glass by The Light of the Shadows

  • Recommended by Pretzel Victim
  • Status: Complete
  • Synopsis: "Before you contradict an old man, my fair friend, you should endeavor to understand him." It has, after all, been one thousand years.
  • Comments: A look at Fry, in a rare (or perhaps just never shown?) moment of soul crushing loneliness and misery, feeling a thousand years old and seeing the vast, empty expanse of time that separates him from the both the world he belongs to that is gone forever, and the world he is trapped in but can never be a part of. The title refers to a Grimm's Brothers fairy tale.

I Trust You by Desdemona Kakalose

  • Recommended by Pretzel Victim
  • Status: Complete
  • Synopsis: One too many rejections, Fry. You don't need her. Trust me, Bender knows. Just trust me...Never argue.
  • Comments: Unbelievably terrifying and one of most horrific things this troper has ever read. The dialogue cruelly beckons the reader along, manipulating them into the same blindness as Fry. Can't elaborate without spoiling, but I hate this story, and love it because it made me hate it so much. Bender fans will have their hearts shattered.

The Frychurian Candidate by Kryten

  • Recommended by Cybertoy0
  • Status: Complete
  • Synopsis: A simple trip to the dentist's office goes awry when Fry becomes the pawn of a dastardly plot.
  • Comments: Funny as hell, and very true to the show.

Mother's Love by The Arthurian Prat's Folly

  • Recommended by: fruitstripegum, ThisIsRidiculous
  • Status: Complete
  • Synopsis: Even though she'd never been either good nor particularly motivated to outwardly show her love, Mrs. Fry truly did love her sons. And she grieved as any mother would when Phillip was lost to time.

Their Happy Endings by Miss Mune

  • Recommended by: fruitstripegum
  • Status: Complete
  • Synopsis: Oneshot, Bender-centric. When viewed from the sidelines, happy endings aren't always so happy.

Leaking by Goggled Monkey

  • Recommended by: fruitstripegum
  • Status: Complete
  • Synopsis: Fry's cut his knee and Bender takes a few minutes to think about it. Friendshippy and slightly fluffy but mostly weird. He is a robot after all.

he ain't heavy (he's my meatbag) by broken halleluiah

  • Recommended by: ThisIsRidiculous
  • Status: Complete
  • Synopsis: In the non-hallucinogenic, waking world of "The Sting", Bender takes the helm of the Planet Express ship and struggles to cope with the mortality of meatbags. Even if said "coping" involves stealing an internal organ or two.

Walking a Fine Line by The Sophisticated Shut In

  • Recommended by: ThisIsRidiculous
  • Status: In-Progress
  • Synopsis: AU. Leela is happily married to Lars, but struggling with feelings for Fry she thought were long-buried. Something is very wrong, and if she can't put it right, she might end up destroying more than just her marriage.
  • Comments: Manages to be true to the show while giving us some suitably dark and emotionally engaging moments, such as the truth about how the surface world treats mutants in the sewers.

Puzzle Pieces by Missy

  • Recommended by: ThisIsRidiculous
  • Status: Complete
  • Synopsis: Only Fry would lose his own child in his own back yard. To be fair, he was distracted by his kid's awesome blernsball pitch...

Kiffy McKifFaceby redstapler

Sixteen Days by ViridianVenus

  • Recommended by lakeswirl
  • Status: Complete
  • Synopsis: A The Sting fanfiction in two acts: sixteen days of Fry at Leela’s bedside, and sixteen days of Leela recovering. Contains a canon-appropriate amount of Fry/Leela shipping.
  • Comments: This is the absolute best take on The Sting I’ve ever read. Everyone is perfectly in character, the emotions are well-written, and it’s not hard to envision it playing out in canon. I pulled an all-nighter to read all 83k words of this and every minute was worth it.

    Shipping Fics
Stories focused on the romantic relationships between the cast.

How to Write a Shippy Futurama Fanfic

No More Secrets by Lennie Asserholt

  • Recommended by Immblueversion
  • Status: Complete
  • Synopsis: Fry and Leela accidentally swallow pills that links their minds together.
  • Comments: A romantic Fry/Leela shipping story to the core, but without forgetting the humor and charm of the series. It's chock full of references to the series, while some scenes end up being replicated word-for-word, but that proves little to deride from this amazing piece of work. Everyone is written perfectly in character, especially with Fry playfully toying around with Leela's head before he actually takes things seriously and uses their newly established mental link to reveal to Leela his perspective of events from "Parasites Lost" and "Time Keeps On Slippin'", two episodes in which Leela painfully rejected him for things that were meant to show just how much Fry loves her.

A Tale of Two Suitors by Dejana Talis

  • Recommended by fruitstripegum
  • Status: Complete

One Difference by WishStarAllie

  • Recommended by Naru Hina Fan
  • Status: Dormant; last updated March 2018
  • Synopsis: So what if Fry decide to adopt that little girl (not an OC) from the Orphanarium. How can one little girl change everything for him. Fry grows up and create better future for them. Featuring Uncle Bender, Fry dog Seymour comes back, and lastly Amy x Fry pairing.
  • Comments: A slow-going romantic Amy/Phillip shipping story. Phillip is absolutely doting on his adopted daughter. She is an adorable little girl who adores her father. Heartwarming and Hilarity Ensues when she meets Amy's parents and they immediately leap to the conclusion that the girl is Amy's daughter with Phillip.
  • Warning: There is a lot of Leela bashing, author admits he is tired of how she treated Fry.

Blame It on the Brain by coldangel omega

  • Recommended by Marcus S Lazarus

  • Synopsis: Years have passed since Fry defeated the evil Brainspawn, and his forgotten heroism remains a blank page in history. However, the Universe will soon face a new menace. Old enemies are astir. And Fry, the Mighty One, must step forward one last time...
  • Comments: A follow-up to the storyline of Fry's confrontations with the Brainspawn, as well as a very engaging Fry/Leela romance, as Leela learns the truth about Nibbler and Fry's role in saving the world just in time for a new devastating confrontation with the returned Brainspawn, that can only end with either the destruction of the universe or the potential loss of Fry himself.
