These are recommendations made by tropers for Camp Camp fanfics, all of which have to be signed to stay on the page. After a few samples, you will be able to note the interests of the tropers recommending them, and judge whether you might be also interested in a certain 'fic.

Remember the rules - no self-recommendations. Find somebody else who agrees that your story is great to start the page! Use the template found here^note a copy of the template is just below. Do warn when a fanfic may head into sexual territory or non-canon. Some people just don't like it, and as we all know, Shipping is Serious Business.

Reviews of fics are encouraged, but if you choose to write one, please make it substantive, and give specific details about what you liked / disliked in the fic. If you want to give a fic a thumbs-up without writing a full review, you can add your troper handle to the Recommendations Line. Please refrain from posting "Comments" or Conversation in the Main Page though; that goes in the discussion page.

• Synopsis: Nikki, Neil and Max have always been tight but a single suggestion from Nikki, despite being quickly accepted by the two boys, sends their lives into a whirlwind, leading to new discoveries and changes they may not be ready for.

• Comments: A surprisingly balanced approach to One True Threesome with the author deliberately going out of their way to make sure all 3 members of the triad not only got personal screentime and growth but also got to spend time one-on-one with the other members.

• Synopsis: Lake Lilac is home to species of varying levels of magic, sympathy, and human-ness. Most campers may not know a thing, but those who do may not even know just what connections their counselors have.
  • (From Archive of Our Own) Camp Campbell isn't your average summer camp. Strange creatures stalk the wilds, a helpful werewolf prowls the woods, and a giant slug monster lives in the lake. Max is determined to prove this and more to his counselors in the hopes that the camp will be shut down, but that isn't the only thing he'll have to worry about this summer. Certain organizations have interest in the Lake Lilac region, and they're out to cause trouble regardless of who it hurts. This will be a summer to remember.

• Synopsis: David and Max never expected to come in contact outside of Camp Campbell and certainly never thought they'd become family. But David's fierce fighting for Max's sake has paid off and the now father and son duo are headed to camp, with Max fully intending to raise hell...but there may be more trouble than he can handle on the horizon.

• Synopsis: Despite being eager to become a foster parent, David knows he's too young and is prepared to patiently await the day he can get his license. But when a small child stumbles into his path with a clearly poor home life, David can't stand by and watch him slip away.
• Comments: An adorable teen Dadvid fic with one of the most adorable toddler Maxes in fanfiction.
• Warnings: Child abuse and neglect.

Camp Campbell but with Black Cats and Pointy Hatsby Moon_In_The_Stars

• Synopsis: Maxwell "Call me fucking Max, you asshole" Mars has no interest in making friends, not that anyone would want to be friends with a Slytherin whose Pureblood family is rumored to have Death Eater ties. But to his shock, stepsiblings Nikki and Neil find their way into his heart...and he doesn't want them to go away.

• Comments: The author does a good job placing the canon characters in the world of Hogwarts and its surrounding world and the story that's been hinted at is very compelling.

Reverse Dadvid: MAXDAD! by Keera

• Synopsis: Despite being a counselor there, Max hates Camp Campbell and is not shy about that fact. He does, however, care about his campers, especially David, a sweet redhead who loves nature and has shitty parents. Summer turns into a wild ride as Max ends up proving the care he covers up but would never deny.
• Comments: A role swap for David and Max with their canon personalities intact that works very well, with Max fitting surprisingly well into David's original role in the timeline and all of the changes that occur making perfect sense.

torn and restored (and torn again) by Aqua Quadrant

• Synopsis: Harrison doesn't understand. Bringing his brother back was supposed to fix everything. So why...why is everything falling apart? And why is Max the only one who seems to understand?
• Comments: A sad, slightly bittersweet fic about the incident involving Harrison and his brother, his attempts to bring him back, and what happens afterward. Painful in all the right ways, with a bit of Max angst for good measure. Overall a very effective story.
