At the very end of the Thousand-Year-Blood-War, a final, spiteful Quincy spell cast on the precipice of defeat opens a rift between worlds. A rift far deeper than any garganta. Ichigo Kurosaki is thrust into a new reality; one where the fate of the very planet itself is the violently contested alimony of the messiest divorce in eternity...

To Shatter Fate is a Crossover Fanfiction of Bleach and RWBY written by Spriggy13. It can be read here.

This fanfiction contains examples of:

  • Adaptational Badass:
    • Ruby Rose can use Crescent Rose as a zanpakuto after Ichigo helped her reforge her scythe's blade
    • Subverted with Cinder, who still gets thrashed by Zangetsu even after Salem transforms her into an Arrancar.
    • Amber gains all the powers of an Arrancar after she defeats Cinder for control over the Fall Maiden's power.
  • Adaptational Heroism: Most of the team CRDL gets some of this. Cardin is still a bully and a racist, but even then he's portrayed in a more positive light as Ichigo straightens him a bit. As for the rest of the team, Dove is mostly just a slacker, Sky a conspiracy nut, and Russel barely mentioned.
  • Adaptational Nice Guy: Downplayed for Adam Taurus; he's still got a massive grudge against humanity, but he's no longer a Yandere for Blake after Ichigo points out the folly of pursuing her after their dramatic breakup when all it's doing is making him more miserable.
  • Alas, Poor Villain: After Amber defeats Cinder for control over the Fall Maiden's powers, she and Ichigo express sympathy for Cinder's Dark and Troubled Past as a child slave in Atlas.
  • The Blind Leading the Blind: Jaune, who barely know anything about what being a hunstman entails, and Ichigo, who quite literally doesn't know anything about the world he's in, meet. They then proceed to warp each other's sense of normalcy.
Jaune: "You think (aura)'s important, for huntsmen... ing?"
Ichigo: "Nah, you'll be fine. My body doesn't have that stuff, and look at me."
  • Botanical Abomination: The Creeping Venus is a gigantic plant-like Grimm that is massive enough to make an abandoned shopping center its territory and can utilize offshoots that range from being similarly plant-like Spadixes and Vennids to animal-like Ravagers and double-faced Araknees. It's true form is a monstrous rafflesia flower that towers over high-rise buildings and carries a soul Dust crystal in the center of its flower.
  • Call-Back: Ichigo felt a strange case of Déjà Vu when he stopped Adam's sword with a finger. To repeat, a redheaded man with spiky hair and black coat attacked someone much more powerful than him with a katana only to be stopped by a single finger.
  • Came Back Strong: Amber returns as an Arrancar after she defeats Cinder for control of the Fall Maiden's powers through a duel in Cinder's Inner World.
  • Combat Pragmatist: Zangetsu strongly believes in the old adage "all's fair in love and war", and it shows with his quick and brutal takedowns of Cinder and her minions in the Forever Forest.
  • Curb-Stomp Battle: Zangetsu utterly wrecks Cinder, Mercury, and Emerald during their battle in the Forever Forest, even after Cinder is transformed into an Arrancar by Salem.
  • Defeat Means Friendship: Being from a Shōnen series, Ichigo subscribes to this belief strongly. After all most of his allies had tried to kill him or his friends at one point or another, so why not? This is why he never holds any real animosity to people who picks fight with him like Cardin, and they ended seeing each other in better light, despite Cardin being a racist and everyone still thinks Ichigo is a faunus. He believes this rules apply to everyone else too. Ichigo's solution for Weiss and Ruby's issue over the team leadership? Have them duel over it. It works.
  • Deliberate Values Dissonance: Considering that Ichigo's a bit of a delinquent and has faced off against things far worse than what Remnant offers, his sense of what's right and wrong is a bit skewed compared to the norm on Remnant. For example, he belives that Cardin isn't that bad of a person even though he's racist against Faunus, since to Ichigo, he's just a somewhat-harmless bully in comparison to the Omnicidal Maniacs and inhuman monsters he's dealt with.
  • Everyone Has Standards: Mountain Glenn and its history have enough sordid moments for Ichigo and Adam to share disgust towards, despite their opposing goals.
    • Both Ichigo and Adam are sickened by the unethical and ultimately pointless experiments on infusing soul Dust into Grimm that Merlot Industries conducted in Mountain Glenn due to how those experiments resulted in the settlement's destruction, with Adam suggesting that he send some White Fang assassins against Merlot Industries' leadership as revenge for their crimes.
    • After Adam reveals to Ichigo that Vale basically left the scant few who survived the Grimm invasion of Mountain Glenn to die by sealing the underground tunnels linking the city to the doomed settlement, they both agree that what the kingdom did was absolutely horrendous given that it definitely had enough resources to rescue the people trapped in Mountain Glenn's subway tunnels from the Grimm yet chose not to out of pure selfishness.
  • It Always Rains at Funerals: There was a moderate downpour during Amber's funeral.
  • Mercy Kill: Ichigo performs a Soul Burial on Amber's spirit after he finds out from her that the grievous injuries she received cannot be healed, allowing her to pass onto Remnant's afterlife.
  • Trapped in Another World: This applies to Ichigo. Not only he does end up in a different physical world, Remnant's afterlife is also completely separate with the one he's familiar with.
