      • Chapter 4 reveals that Kaelynne Harvey has been in possession of Lugia for two years. Her father is also on a journey. In addition, how Maggie Winters' foster brother came into the family is revealed.

      • Chapter 6 reveals that Clara Campo's father had been turned into a Yamask by a gypsy's curse.
      • In Chapter 7, Alyssa Mc-Mann is revealed to be the daughter of Anistar Gym Leader Olympia. Lillie Germain is also revealed to be in a secret relationship with Professor Kukui after his marriage to Professor Burnet tragically failed.
      • Chapter 8 reveals the reason why Olympia gave Alyssa up: during her pregnancy, her husband joined up with Team Rocket, and she didn't want her daughter to go down the same path. Thankfully, Alyssa's existence is not known of by her father.
      • Chapter 9 reveals that Brianna Cavell was entrusted with Tapu Koko by Hala, the Kahuna of Melemele Island in the Alola region. In addition, Ethan Lynch and Liz Hampton are confirmed to be childhood friends.
      • Chapter 10 expands more on Brianna's past: she used to participate in Pokémon Showcases, her mother was given the Cinderella treatment when she was younger, her father is the Frontier Brain Brandon, and Paul and Reggie are her younger and older brothers respectively.
      • Chapter 12 reveals that Seth Caprio is part of a dysfunctional family, and that he never smiles. Adrien Mondena and his younger siblings are living with their grandfather after the death of their father and disappearance of their mother. Birhan Robinson is also revealed to be Akala Island Kahuna Olivia's cousin through his mother.
      • Chapter 13 reveals that Carter Hubbard has been abused by his alcoholic father since he was a child, and he's very close with Allison Rogers. In addition, Lillie is revealed to have a past with Marshadow. Finally, Lydia is revealed to have inherited her grandmother's Z-Ring from Olivia.
      • Chapter 15 expands upon Michael Enon's past: he is afraid of flying since his mother died in a plane crash. It takes advice from his friend Nolan to help him. Yushuv Hayes' parents died when he was 10 years old, and the Ecruteak Gym Leader Morty has taken care of him since the incident.
      • Chapter 16 reveals that Rebecca Wilson is only allowed to keep Nihilego with her if she keeps the ex-Ultra Beast under control.
      • Chapter 17 reveals that Alyssa knew Falkner, the Violet City Gym Leader when they were kids. Not only do they see each other again, they also fall in love. Natalie is also revealed to have been in a failed romance with Silver.
      • Chapter 18 reveals that Alexander and Jenna Grace's father isn't present in their lives, as he left on a journey after they were born. Blake Noxic comes out as a lesbian, Isaac and Isaiah Ketchum are revealed to be Ash's cousins, and Birhan and Annaleise are crushing on each other.
      • Chapter 19 expands on the family histories of Natalie and Lillie: the Ice Queen of Kanto's Elite Four, Lorelei Ayamura, is Natalie's older cousin, and Lillie lost her father to the plague when she was young.
      • Chapter 20 gives a bit of backstory to Yushuv's adoptive family: Yushuv's adoptive mother, Emilie, went into hiding after she found out she was pregnant with Audrey due to the threat of Team Flare. Now that Team Flare is gone, Emilie and Audrey plan to return home.
  • Bearer of Bad News: Bethany runs up the Wela Volcano to break the news to Kiawe and Lydia, who just became his girlfriend, that her grandmother is dying.
  • Big Brother Instinct: Like in the Sun and Moon Anime, Kiawe is EXTREMELY overprotective of his little sister. Lydia fits the female version of this trope, being overprotective of her younger twin brother, Lyric.
  • Break the Cutie: The usually calm and sweet Natalie Bannister is driven to tears, revealing that she's devastated she and her older cousin don't get to see each other very often.
  • Cliffhanger: Chapter 20 ends with Lorelei opening a Pokéball containing an Alolan Sandshrew, caught for her by her cousin Natalie. The Sandshrew says "Hello, My Queen" and we don't get to see Lorelei's reaction until Chapter 21.
  • Cone of Shame: Oliver puts one on Hoopa whenever she pulls an extremely mean prank.
  • Cuddle Bug: Kiawe. He really likes being the one to hold Lydia, especially when she's getting over the death of her and Lyric's grandmother.
  • The Cutie: Moana Dixon's little sister, Kiki fits this trope perfectly.
    • Audrey, Yushuv's adoptive sister and the daughter of Morty and Emilie.
  • Death Glare: Eric gives a tear-streaked one to Nolan when telling him the reason behind his sister's death; it was Darkrai that did it!
  • Death Wail: Lillie lets out one after Gladion dies.
  • Disappeared Dad: Alexander and Jenna Grace's father married their mother, Sophie, very quickly and left home to go on a journey after the twins were born. The trope also applies to Kaelynne Harvey, Ash and Serena.
  • Doomed New Clothes: A 14-year-old Lydia had her old clothes dirty before Island Kahuna Olivia had Tapu Lele change them into a Guardian Dress.
  • Foreshadowing:
    • Lydia's dream, hinting at her romance with Kiawe. Another hint at that is Lydia finding the dress and shoes she wore.
  • Friend to All Living Things: The Z-Ring Holders, AKA Guardians.
    • In other words, Kiawe, Ash, Lana, Sophocles, Mallow, Acerola and the members of the Legendary Heroes Squad fit this trope perfectly, especially Lydia, Lyric, Alyssa, Tessa, Lillie, Brianna, Rebecca, Bethany, Adrien and Moana.
  • Gender Flip: Zekrom is female here, as opposed to generally being portrayed as male.
    • Same goes with Reshiram, who is portrayed as male here.
  • Grief Song:
    • "Remember Me" (not the Coco song) for Brianna after her crush, Sebastian, gets struck by lightning and loses his memories of their first date.
    • "Dead Mom" for Victoria.
    • "Surrender" for Lillie.
  • Hates Being Touched: Allison Rogers. However, she does accept light touches from well known friends, such as Lydia.
  • An Ice Person: Lydia Johnson, Trey Samson and Eric Logan, who all have Ice-type Legendary Partners. Natalie and her older cousin, Kanto Elite Four member Lorelei Ayamura also fit the trope.
  • I Have No Son!: Carter Hubbard gets this from his abusive father quite a bit. He hears that for the last time when he is kicked out of the house after being chosen by Moltres.
  • "I Want" Song: "How Far I'll Go" and "One Moment In Time" for Tessa
  • In the Blood: Moana and Kiki are the daughters of Tucker the Dome Ace and Fantina the Gym Leader. That explains why the former is so flamboyant and has a great fashion sense and why the latter is a great dancer.
  • Knight of Cerebus: Eternatus. The minute he shows up, you know shit's going down later on.
  • Long-Lost Relative: Alyssa Mc-Mann reunites with Anistar Gym Leader Olympia, who happens to be her biological mother.
  • Luke, I Am Your Father: In Chapter 7, Alyssa finds out that her real mother is Anistar City Gym Leader Olympia, who gave her up to keep her safe from her father, a member of Team Rocket.
    • Chapter 10 identifies Brianna and Moana as the daughters of Frontier Brains Brandon and Tucker respectively. In addition, Paul and Reggie are Brianna's brothers, with her being the middle child.
    • Chapter 12 reveals that Birhan Robinson and Island Kahuna Olivia Palakiko are cousins through the former's mother.
    • Chapter 19 makes a surprising revelation: when Natalie mentions a member of her family to Lydia, Lorelei Ayamura of Kanto's Elite Four shows up, solidifying her identity as Natalie's older cousin, and revealing that she and Natalie have been out of touch for six years!
  • Mama Bear: Lillie won't tolerate so much as an insult towards her Pokémon.
  • Missing Mom: Adrien Mondena's father, Darien, died of a fentanyl overdose when the kid was four years old, which led his mother, Claudia, to move him and his younger brother and sister to the Kanto Region. A year later, she disappeared and has not been heard from since.
    • Carter, Yushuv, Michael, Artorias, Elias, Melody and Victoria's mothers all died prior to the events of the story.
  • Mission from God: Tessa and her friends have been chosen by the Legendaries to help them stop Dark Matter.
  • Oh, Crap!: Miror B's facial reaction when he is humiliated by Kaelynne, Tessa and Brianna during their Car Wash number in the Lumiose Dance Contest.
  • Papa Wolf: Kyurem to Eric, especially when it comes to Darkrai.
  • Proper Lady: Brianna.
    • Moana fits the trope as well, even though she does have her flamboyant side.
  • Real After All: When Tessa wakes up, thinking her encounter with Lunala was a dream, only to find Lunala's Poké Ball on her dresser.
  • Psychic Children: Four-year-old Audrey. Considering her father is the Ecruteak Gym Leader Morty, it's blatantly obvious she inherited her clairvoyance from him.
  • Psychic Powers: The Gym Leaders Morty and Olympia are both shown to have clairvoyant powers.
    • Chapter 20 reveals that Morty had a daughter named Audrey with his wife, and that she inherited her father's abilities.
  • Running Gag: Nihilego escapes from her Poké Ball once every chapter starting Chapter 15 (barring Chapter 19), leaving her Trainer, Rebecca, annoyed every time.
  • Shout-Out: At some point in the story, Tessa is shown reaching out to a green light. Does this ring a bell?
  • Signature Line: "Don't give up till it's over!"
  • Soul Power: Oliver's Hoopa, Lillie's Marshadow, Artorias's Giratina and Tessa's Lunala are part Ghost type.
  • Speak of the Devil: Immediately after Kiawe's solo number, in which he prays for his love to appear to him, Lydia shows up.
  • Strong Family Resemblance: Brianna and Tessa are the spitting image of their fathers.
  • Telepathy: Evan Stone was born with the ability to speak through this.
    • The Legendaries also have this ability.
  • "They've Come So Far" Song: "Show Yourself" for Victoria, which ends with the spirit of her deceased mother joining her.
  • Trying Not to Cry: Moana when naming her Skitty "Samara". She fails. Miserably. There's only one reason why...
  • Understanding Boyfriend: Kiawe to Lydia. He shows this when he helps her get through her grandmother's death.
  • Unknown Character: Victoria. Not much is currently known about her, other than that she joins the Legendary Heroes Squad very late, wears glasses and that her mother died less than a year prior to the events of the story.
  • Wham Episode: Chapter in this case.
    • Chapter 1 has Lunala join the team of Tessa Sycamore.
      • Chapter 2 gives Sebastian White some backstory: his older sister was killed defending her shiny Eevee from Team Rocket. To top it off, Suicune joins his team. In addition, Meloetta and Latias are revealed to have joined the teams of Anderson Davis and Annaleise Rivas respectively.
      • Chapter 3 introduces us to Hawes and Lenora's son, Ethan and Sinnoh Champion Cynthia's son Nolan through Aura Guardian Riley. Volcanion ends up joining Ethan. In addition, Hoopa, Victini, Darkrai, Dialga and Latios are revealed to have joined the teams of Oliver Fern, Aiden Park, Nolan, Nolan's half-sister Maya Shirona-Hart and Michael Enon respectively.
      • In Chapter 4, it is revealed that Kaelynne Harvey has had Lugia for two years. In addition, Mew and Xerneas are revealed to have joined the teams of Maggie Winters and Phillip Lotus respectively.
      • Chapter 5 has Solgaleo joining the team of Jerco Snow. Anderson also makes a move on Tessa...
