The Enemy Within
- Adaptational Expansion: Luz (while she's possessed) and Vee get some interactions, while they didn't in "Thanks to Them.
- Pragmatic Villainy: The reason Belos possessed Luz was because he sees her as a bigger threat.
- Role Swap AU: Hunter takes Luz's role, and later ends up being the one who gets stabbed and sacrifices his life to save the possessed victim, instead of Flapjack.
- What If?:
- For starters, Luz is the one getting possessed instead of Hunter.
- The last entry of Luz's video diary now depicts her failing to regain control of her body from Belos, then using the laptop to leave a message for Camila.
The Hunter Without
- Genre Shift: Every time the Dread Hunter appears to Luz, the fic shifts to psychological horror.
- Innocently Insensitive: Willow's reaction to seeing the Dread Hunter in the memory photo of the teleportation glyph implies that she's feeling like she's this towards Luz.
- Obviously Not Fine: Regardless of how much Luz insists, everyone in the Hexsquad can tell that she's not doing well.
- Sanity Slippage: Throughout the fic, Luz gradually loses her mind from her own Survivor's Guilt.
- What If?
- For obvious reasons, Hunter is not present with the Hexsquad due to being killed off in the previous fic.
- Luz attacks Terra while the latter is dressed like Eda/the Owl Beast, and as a result, the Hexsquad briefly interact with her.
- Willow's reason for splitting from the Hexsqud is because she's (or implied to be) feeling Innocently Insensitive towards Luz. And unlike in canon, Gus goes after her.
