What if Demona had not betrayed Macbeth? What if the two had remained loyal to one another? Would life have been less hectic?
Spoiler alert: no. But how will the dark forces deal with the united pair of Demona and Macbeth fighting side by side.
Symphony of Angels contains the following examples:
- Adaptational Nice Guy: Demona doesn’t betray Macbeth. However, her spiteful and prejudiced tendencies still pop up occasionally.
- The Good King: Macbeth, who avoid rash military actions, listens to his advisors, and chooses reason above emotion.
- Like an Old Married Couple: The other officers see Macbeth and Demona’s squabbles over military action as resembling a lover’s quarrel.
- Martial Pacifist: Despite being a good general, Macbeth does not needlessly seek conflict or bloodshed, and wants to end his current war as quickly as possible. This puts him at odds with Demona, who is very much a Blood Knight.
- The High Queen: Queen Gruoch, who doesn’t let fear and worry, even when her husband is missing, cloud her judgement, to Demona’s amazement.
