is a My Little Pony: Equestria Girls fanfic written by sonicfan05.
After things at the Christmas party and Toys for Kids festival go wrong due to someone wanting revenge on Sunset and causing an argument with her friends, Sunset runs away and wishes she was never born. A mysterious teenage girl named Rebecca who claims to be her guardian angel, shows Sunset what life would be like for her friends and everyone around them if she wasn't born.

- Sunset is also explained to have been an orphan whose biological parents died at a young age with Princess Celestia adopting her and taking her in.
- The Bad Guy Wins: In the alternate future where Sunset was never born, the Dazzlings were able to successfully entrance the whole world with their magic due to no one being around to stop them. They now rule over Dazzling city (formerly named Canterlot city), demanding it's citizens to give them all of their Christmas presents to them under the threat of death if they refuse and will still kill them if their present doesn't meet their standards.
- Bad People Abuse Animals: Gilda in the world Sunset never existed ended up beating Angel to death in front of Fluttershy when she ambushed the girl in an alleyway. She ends up regretting what she did when Fluttershy (who snapped and became cruel after Angel’s death) has her kidnapped and beaten despite her apologies.
- Subverted with Sunset, as she admits that even during her days of being a bully, she wouldn’t even consider hurting any animals as that would be too cruel.
- Beware the Nice Ones: While generally a nice person, Sci-Twi really lays it on to Cinch when finding out her plans to blackmail Sunset into leaving the human world forever.
- Big Damn Heroes: As Cinch tries to get away, Princess Celestia shows up to block her exit.
- The Bus Came Back: Cinch and the Dazzlings return as the main villains here.
- Butt-Monkey: Spike is this during the first few chapters due to the CMC's antics, getting paint all over his fur, getting his fur shaved off as a result, forced into taking a bath, and put in an embarrassing Christmas sweater.
- Despair Event Horizon:
- Sunset reaches this after Cinch blackmails her into leaving the human world.
- In the world where Sunset doesn't exist, pretty much everyone has suffered this, especially the human versions of the Mane Six.
- Driven to Suicide:
- Sunset is nearly in this state right before Rebecca shows up.
- Sci-Twi ends up in this state in the world where Sunset doesn't exist due to everything bad that has happened.
- Everyone Has Standards: Even when she was a bully, Sunset made it a point to draw the line at hurting innocent animals, causing injuries to someone, and mocking Derpy for her disability.
- Eviler than Thou: Princess Twilight's transformation into Midnight Sparkle ends up becoming a worse threat than Sunset when she turned into a She-Demon. She teamed up with Equestria's greatest villains to help her conquer it with an iron hoof, only to later betray them so she can have Equestria all to herself. After banishes Princess Celestia to the sun, she sets her sights on the human world where she engages in battle with the Dazzlings for dominance of the Earth after they betray her, not caring about those who get caught in battle.
- Evil Is Petty: In the other world, Cinch had arranged for Sci-Twi to be bullied and to never be able to go to any other school as an essential punishment for her losing one event at the Friendship Games (despite Crystal Prep still winning). And while Sci-Twi had Cadence and Spike at first, Cinch had Cadence fired simply due to her caring about Sci-Twi and had Spike put down after he bit a student trying to protect his owner.
- Evil Versus Evil: The Dazzlings and Midnight Sparkle (who is the Princess Twilight Sparkle in this alternate reality) fight each other for complete control over the world, not caring about the collateral damage or innocent citizens that get caught in the crossfire.
- Formerly Fit: In the world where Sunset never existed, Bulk Biceps has become overweight (likely due to school morale going down ever since Cinch took over CHS and turned it into another Crystal Prep).
- I Have No Son!: Cinch manages to brainwash Rarity's family into disowning her in the timeline where Sunset never existed.
- It's a Wonderful Plot: This fic shows what would happen if Sunset was never born.
- Karma Houdini Warranty: After getting away with her actions in Friendship Games, Cinch is arrested for her actions here in mind controlling Mayor Mare, sabotaging the Christmas festival, trying to drive Sunset away, and attempting to hold Sweetie Belle hostage as a last resort.
- Kick the Dog: Two instances of this happens in the world that Sunset was never born, only with fatal results for the animals in question:

- Mama Bear: Princess Celestia is shown to be Sunset's adopted mother here and shows traits of this when going to the human world to confront Cinch face to face for her actions against Sunset.
- Mythology Gag: The human Pinkie Pie is revealed to have gone through her own version of "Party of One" at some point for similar reasons as her pony counterpart.
- Nice Job Breaking It, Hero: Pinkie accidentally blabs that the culprit who sabotaged the Christmas festival wanted revenge on Sunset, causing the other students to blame Sunset for the entire mess which ends up pushing her over the edge into "The Reason You Suck" Speech mode.
- Noodle Incident: Dialogue from Rarity and Shining Armor in chapter 15 indicates that the CMC have gotten in trouble with the police before at some point.
- Poor Communication Kills: Sci-Twi tries to state she broke up with Timber Spruce because of Sunset without elaborating. This poor choice in wording makes Sunset take this to mean it was one of her previous actions coming back to haunt her. What Sci-Twi actually meant was that she had a crush on Sunset she wanted to pursue and broke up with Timber Spruce to do so.
- Official Couple: Sunset and Sci-Twi become this in the end.
- Ship Sinking: Sci-Twi and Timber Spruce broke up before the start of the story with Sci-Twi moving on to Sunset.
- Shout-Out: The way that Cinch is exposed and taken down is very similar to how Aladdin exposed Jafar.
- Trickster Mentor: Rebecca may be a good meaning Guardian Angel, but she isn't above pulling Sunset's leg a few times during their journey.
- Used to Be a Sweet Kid: The events of Sunset not existing have considerably hardened Derpy, Fluttershy, Rainbow Dash, and Rarity.
- Would Hurt a Child: Cinch is more than willing to use Sweetie Belle as a hostage as a last resort.
- You Are Grounded!: The CMC face this at the end of the story for running off to confront the Dazzlings on their own without telling anyone and worrying their older sisters sick on where they are.
- You Are What You Hate: Ever since the Flim Flam brothers have taken over the farm, Applejack is now forced to go against her honest nature by lying to her once beloved customers by selling false products at large prices and can't back out with the Flim Flam brothers threatening to stop paying for Granny Smith's care at the hospital. Applejack can only cry at going against everything she once stood for.
- You Meddling Kids: Adagio delivers this line when the CMC and Spike reveal her and the Dazzlings' part in ruining the Christmas festival and getting arrested by Officer Shining Armor.
