Suckle
is a fanfic in The Weedverse, written by Kudzuhaiku.
Honeysuckle, like many other foals, loves her mother. Unlike many other foals, very few other people like her, as she's a changeling. The story depicts a day in her life, where she accompanies her mother to market, has a brief chat with Applejack. After that, she and her mother go to the park.
That's when things go wrong. Fortunately, they live in Ponyville, and there are far weirder families around than theirs.

- The Empath: Honeysuckle can sense emotions, as part of being an Emotion Eater.
- Fantastic Racism: Honeysuckle is subjected to a lot of this, and it's part of why her parents moved to Ponyville. It's also the explanation given for why a diamond dog "costume" would be a bad idea.
- Happily Adopted: Honeysuckle truly loves her parents, and they love her, even with the difficulties her nature causes.
- I'm Having Soul Pains: Being subjected to intense hatred is debilitatingly painful for Honeysuckle.
- Involuntary Shapeshifting: When scared, Honeysuckle's "costumes" can slip.
- Kids Are Cruel: Bullies remain a problem in the Weedverse, and it being Fantastic Racism themed doesn't make it any better for the victim.
- Matter of Life and Death: There are many rules that Honeysuckle has to obey to help her fit in with the rest of pony society, but the most important one is to never take food from a stranger, because it might contain bumble jelly. The precise effects of this aren't stated (only that it'll make her "bad"), but it's implied to be some form of personality death, possibly with monstrous transformation as wellnote .
- Quirky Town: Ponyville has (deservedly) acquired this reputation, and it's why Rocky Blossom and Honeysuckle moved there, to try and avoid the Fantastic Racism that Honeysuckle had been subjected to in Fillydelphia.
- Sweet Tooth: Rocky Blossom claims that Honeysuckle's one fault is that she's a bit gluttonous with sweets.
- Voluntary Shapeshifting: Honeysuckle can do it as part of being a changeling, she refers to her different forms as "costumes".
