Go To

Loid Forger is a man with many identities. One is Agent Twilight, master spy working for the organization, WISE. And another is the mysterious superhero, Spider-Man.

While he and his newfound family try to handle their dynamcis along with Loid having to accomplish Operation: Strix, sinister forces have start to emerge and will cross paths with them.

Spy x Family Project: W.E.B. is a fanfic created by PowerCore Productions mixing the two series, Spy X Family and Spider-Man. It is part of the Anime X Marvel series, the Spiderverse Saga. It is a What If? story where Loid Forger became Spider-Man Noir.

The fic can be found here.

The fanfic contains the following tropes:

  • Action-Hero Babysitter: Natasha becomes Anya's nanny to protect the girl from Taskmaster.
  • Adaptational Backstory Change:
    • Loid's backstory as a orphan of war remains the same however what diverges is that his mother had been killed by the Vulture.
    • Prior to working at Garden, Yor was formally a recruit of the Black Widow program, under the designation, 13.
  • Adaptational Job Change: Felicia Hardy in this fic is both a nightclub owner and an agent of WISE. She also has traits of the main comic's Black Cat, engaging in thievery.
  • Adaptational Villainy: Keith Kepler was already a cruel bastard in the manga and anime but this fic takes it further by having him working for Hydra.
  • Adaptation Deviation:
    • Daybreak and Twilight get to fight unlike in the manga.
    • The drowning boy Anya and Loid rescued is Harry Osborn.
  • Awesome by Analysis: Taskmaster and the Big Man at the very least, knows that Spider-Man is not from Ostiana due to his fighting style being more based on Westalis.
  • Berserk Button: The Vulture is this to Loid. When Madame Web mentions that name, Loid breaks his glass in anger.
  • Big Bad Ensemble:
    • The Big Man of Crime/Tombstone orchestrates the various groups and super-villains to eliminate Spider-Man for interfering in their criminal activities.
    • Hydra is attempting to take over Ostiana and wants threats like Spider-Man and Natasha killed. They also want Yor recaptured due to still being able to birth children, having not went through the final Black Widow procedure.
  • Composite Character:
    • This version of Loid Forger is relatively the same as his canon counterpart but he also has a number of traits and elements from Spider-Man Noir.
    • Yuri Briar is both a Secret Police officer and the metahuman, Molten-Man.
    • Loid's mother takes the place of Spider-Man Noir's Uncle Ben, who was murdered by the Vulture.
    • Clint Barton/Hawkeye is a mix of his comic counterpart and One-Shot Character, Daybreak.
  • Decomposite Character: The real Taskmaster is Truer to the Text while the remaining Widows are based on the MCU's version of the character.
  • Everyone Has Standards: Ostania saw their military division, Hydra as such a threat that they work with Westalis in defeating them.
  • Fortune Teller: This version of Madame Web is a psychic with powerful clairvoyance who Loid first encounters at a bar she owns. Given she somehow bypasses Loid's Spider-senses and knows his identity as both Twilight and Spider-Man, she's nothing to scoff at.
  • Mythology Gag:
  • Nice Job Breaking It, Hero: Franky selling pictures of Spider-Man leads J. Jonah Jameson using them as ammo to slander the webslinger as a menace to Ostiana.
  • Oh, Crap!:
    • Loid panics when Madame Web reveals she knows he is agent Twilight and Spider-Man.
    • Sylvia dreads after hearing that Hydra is involved.
    • Yor and Natasha have this when they realize the fake Taskmaster has recorded their fight and transmitted the info back to the real Taskmaster and the other Widows.
  • Point of Divergence:
    • Loid uses his Spider-Man guise to take down the smuggling ring. This leads Spider-Man to be exposed to the public.
    • With Felicia's help, Loid didn't have to pay a lot for the castle rescue act.
    • Loid, as Spider-Man, defeats Keith on his own.
  • Power Incontinence: Loid's organic webbing fail him on several occasions, with their effectiveness varying depending on how much fatigue he bears. To alleviate this problem, he uses the web shooters.
  • Related in the Adaptation: Anya's classmate, Becky, is the daughter of Sergei Kravinoff, aka Kraven the Hunter.
  • Revenge: Loid's true goal is to hunt down the Vulture to avenge his mother's death. Part of the reason he takes part in Operation: Strix is because he finds out that the Vulture is at Ostania.
  • Screw This, I'm Outta Here: The reason Yor left the Black Widow program is out of refusal to go through the procedure that would remove her ability to have children.
  • Shout-Out: When Felicia inquires why Loid didn't choose her as the wife for Operation: Strix, Loid explains that the last time they acted as a couple, Felicia nearly blew up Shuchi'in Academy.
  • Sick Episode: Loid catches a cold at the start of the Doggy Crisis arc, causing his spiders powers to be dampened. This is what caused his future death, only for Anya's interference to stop that from happening.
  • Wham Line: Keith's final line just before his head is blown off.
    Keith: Hail Hydra!
  • Worf Effect: Both Yor and Natasha could barely hold off the Taskmaster impostor. Although they do succeed, however this is still a dangerous situation for them, now knowing that the real Taskmaster and his other agents are coming after them.
  • Work Off the Debt: After Anya requests to reenact a scene she saw in TV, Loid reluctantly asks Felicia's help in paying for the costs in exchange for helping her with her more shady activities. Unfortunately, Loid knows full well that when someone is in Felicia's debt, she'll find ways to rope them back in even if they somehow able to repay her several fold.
