"So, yeah...I'm here at the Smash Mansion, about to meet some brawlers, and make some new friends - the latter of which may or may not happen, depending on how well I get along with everyone - but I guess I'll starting call this place home..."
Cloud's first talking head segment - Episode 1: Newcomers

Smash Life is a Super Smash Bros. Fan Fic written by FanFiction.Net user Crash Guy 01. It was first published on December 25th, 2015, and is still being updated weekly.

The story begins on Christmas Day, when Cloud, Corrin, and Bayonetta are first welcomed into the mansion. From there, the story begins to divulge into different plotlines involving different characters. Soon enough, more and more characters join the mansion's residents, as well as a few guest stars from other games join along. The storytelling goes on in a documentary style, much like The Office.

The first episode can be read here.

Smash Life contains examples of:

  • Abhorrent Admirer: Snake gains one when he attempts to slip Samus a Love Potion that is promptly given to Kiria. He then proceeds to hide from her while she searches him out.
  • Adaptational Heroism: Think of any brawler who is normally a villain in their home series and they are hit with this.
  • Adaptational Villainy: As much as some antagonistic characters become less demeaning, there is also the vice-versa.
    • Jakob is a butler devoted normally to Corrin. Here, he's someone who schemed with Team Flare to conspire against the mansion.
    • Are you in some way, affiliated to any of the Playstation All-Stars? Loved One? Close Ally? Normally a good guy in their respective world? Congrats. You're hit with this trope.
  • Affably Evil: Jakob.
  • Arc Villain: For every single arc in the series, there are usually a set of villains that take over the role of the Big Bad for every Arc.
    • The first true Arc Villain is Organization XIII. They serve as the villains of the Invasion Arc.
    • Immediately after the Invasion Arc, the Kidnapped Arc begins and is being headed by Team Flare.
    • For a while, the next Arc villain to come would be Calamity Ganon.
    • The next villain to be introduced would be The Seattle Stalker, but it's actually the duo of Amazon Pandora and Andross.
    • The next Arc Villains are the All-Stars.
  • Audience Surrogate: Cloud served as this in the first episode.
  • Comically Missing the Point: When the other prisoners beg for Sonic to be let out of jail early, Sonic thinks it's because they like him.
    • It's implied that the real reason Sonic was let out early was because he extremely annoyed everyone.
  • Fourth-Wall Observer: Cranky Kong.
    • Still manages to do this despite only being mentioned by Diddy in passing for a long time.
  • Groin Attack: A chapter revolves around Lucas attending a Woman's Self-Defense Course with Luigi and learning to do this to people.
    • "That's My Purse, I don't know you!"
  • Go-Karting with Bowser
  • Happily Married
    • Mario and Peach as of Chapter 79.
    • Luigi and Daisy as of Chapter 24.
      • Taken a Step Further with a child.
    • Alm and Celica.
    • Link and Zelda as of Chapter 305.
  • Lethal Chef: Palutena.
  • Man, I Feel Like a Woman: Falco "tests everything out" when he switches into a woman's body Courtesy of Manaphy.
  • Stalker with a Crush: Snake continually fails in his attempts to get Samus to love him.
  • Strictly Formula: In every season of the fanfic, always expect these episodes to appear:
    • A Marvel Cinematic Universe tie-in episode.
    • An episode tie-in to the Super Bowl.
    • An Olympics Episode.
    • A Thanksgiving/Christmas/Holiday episode.
