Fanfic / Seth in the Pokécity

Go To

Seth in the Pokécity is a fanfiction series created by KalloFox34 (known here as Stewie Griffin 34), focusing on Seth Anderson. Among him, his friends include Tim Tim Wilson, Misty Waterflower, Ash Ketchum and Seth's loyal Emolga, BoltShock.

A mostly episodic series, it heavily features Black Comedy, Cutaway Gags, sex jokes and political commentary.

It was able to be viewed here, though the rest of the series is being moved over to KalloFox34's DeviantArt. However, it was then cancelled officially due to lack of interest. Therefore, a lot of planned events on this page will likely never come to fruition.

Seth in the Pokécity provides examples of:

  • The Alcoholic: Ash is the best example here.
    • Seth and Tim Tim, to a lesser extent.
    • Flosshead, despite being a child in dinosaur years, loves beer and wine.
  • Alcohol-Induced Idiocy: One upcoming episode shows that Ash is intelligent when he's sober.
  • All Men Are Perverts: Most of the males on the show (most notably Vinny and Barney) are perverts to some extent.
  • Ambiguously Bi:
    • In "Save the Grotto", there is a scene where Vinny makes out with a cardboard cut-out of Chris Hemsworth, but is also a Dirty Kid known to hit on grown women.
    • Seth and Tim Tim share a lot of Ho Yay scenes, but are married to Misty and May, respectively.
  • Author Avatar: Seth, to some extent. Him and KalloFox34 are both liberal atheists who have the same taste in pop-culture. What sets him apart from other fanfiction examples is that he's a Butt-Monkey who does have his flaws (sarcasm, lack of a backbone, perversion, alcoholism, obsession with TV, etc.).
  • Banned Episode: In-Universe example in "Bowlin' Again, Naturally". At the beginning of the episode, Seth and Tim Tim are watching a banned episode of Rugrats, where Tommy and Chuckie watch Lonely Space Vixens. The episode ends with Chuckie accidentally shooting Angelica after finding a gun concealed under his couch seat.
  • Blatant Lies: This gem from "Bowlin' Again, Naturally":
Carter: "Seth? SETH! Wake up! You’re supposed to be inspecting the Poké Balls!"
Seth: "I know, I know. I cut my eye yesterday and it's making it hard to keep my eyes open."
    Carter: "Really? How?"
Seth: "I kinda got into a Bar Brawl at the Blotto Grotto."
  • Brainy Brunette: Seth is usually this.
  • Butt-Monkey:
    • Seth is a frequent slapstick target, starting from "Save the Grotto".
    • Flosshead takes a lot of punishment to make up for his Jerkass behavior.
  • Crossover Gag:
    • The Pokémon Squad examples:
      • In "Trouble Date", Flosshead accidentally hits June with a car:
June: (Nick jingle)! God, can’t people (Nick jingle)ing drive in this (Nick jingle)ing town?!
        Henry: Whoa, June! Calm down!
June: Shut the (Nick jingle) up, Henry!
        Henry: Okay.
      • In "Less Money, Mo' Problems", May screams when Tim Tim suggests that she gives up ramen. It's loud enough for RM and Max to hear it.
  • Depending on the Writer:
    • Officer Jenny's personality seems to depend on what makes the joke work. She's either a Straw Feminist or a Dirty Cop who not only accepts bribes, but even asks for them.
    • Seth tends to vary as well. He's either a smug, apathetic Insufferable Genius; an occasionally insensitive but well-meaning fellow; a walking punchline; or a spineless Nervous Wreck, sometimes more than one within a single episode.
    • Flosshead, too. He either has a Hidden Heart of Gold or is just a plain old Jerkass lacking any sort of redeeming qualities.
  • Does Not Like Men:
    • Officer Jenny hates men, frequently arresting Seth and Tim Tim over the slightest indiscretions, while granting Misty and May Karma Houdini status.
    • Ms. Barch is naturally this.
  • Expy:
  • Extreme Doormat:
    • Vinny, Flosshead's best friend/partner in crime. Even after the terrible things Flosshead does (or, rather, did, because Flosshead later became much less competent), Vinny forgives him routinely.
    • Seth himself is also an extreme doormat. While he sometimes gets angry at Misty, he usually forgives her. He also rarely stands up for Misty when Kay and Arnold pick on her.
  • Fiery Redhead: Tim Tim and Misty are good examples.
  • Flanderization: Done intentionally.
    • Seth was mostly a Nice Guy in the earliest episodes, with only occasional bouts of snarkiness. Later, he Took a Level in Jerkass, becoming much more of a lazy alcoholic jerk.
    • Meanwhile, Tim Tim's short fuse is being slowly phased out in favor of a more perverted persona.
    • Flosshead was less evil early on. Later on, he's become a supreme Jerkass who goes out of his way to torment Tim Tim.
  • Four-Temperament Ensemble:
  • Goldfish Poop Gang: Flosshead and Vinny are good examples later on, when the former became a petty Troll whose evil acts amount to nothing more than Poke the Poodle.
  • Greed: A lot of Flosshead's antics are fueled by money.
  • Hair-Trigger Temper:
    • Tim Tim is actually a Nice Guy, but he's also quick to anger.
    • Misty too, but with Seth's occasional Jerkass behavior, it's Justified at times.
  • Jerkass:
  • Jerk with a Heart of Gold:
    • Seth tends to be either this or a regular Nice Guy. While he is a cynical Deadpan Snarker, he usually just wants the best for his friends and family.
    • Tim Tim has a Hair-Trigger Temper and shows similar Deadpan Snarker tendencies, but outside of those, he's really warm-hearted and polite.
    • Reko, though the jerk part is mostly greed.
  • Nice Guy:
    • Seth, though not without flaws, is cool-tempered, (usually) selfless and when he does something wrong, he will try to fix it.
    • Tim Tim is one of the only characters who doesn't abuse Seth, and is usually amiable until he's provoked.
  • No-Holds-Barred Beatdown: Tim Tim gives a brutal one to Flosshead in "Trouble Date".
  • Sitcom Arch-Nemesis:
    • Flosshead's favorite target for pranks and cruelty is Tim Tim. In return, Tim Tim hates Flosshead the most out of the main cast.
  • Spontaneous Choreography: In an upcoming episode, we have Seth and a large amount of fish singing a song about catching salmon in a bucket.
  • Strawman Political: Flosshead is the series' default Jerkass and sometimes exhibits decidedly right-wing beliefs.
  • Take That!:
    • KalloFox34 has said that he loathes Ed, Edd n Eddy, and it shows:
      • In the upcoming episode "Less Money, Mo' Problems", they manage to fit two of these into one scene. A scavenger hunt on TV claims nobody had found a funny episode of Ed, Edd n Eddy. Cue Donald Trump outside in a dumpster, digging around for evidence against Joe Biden, sadly saying "I like Ed, Edd n' Eddy..."
      • "Seth's Christmas Tales" has this exchange at the end of the third segment:
Rachel Bighead: After all, you do remember the scumbag that ruined an entire TV network?
Seth: Oh, you mean Danny Antonucci?
        Rachel: Well, him too...
  • Trademark Favorite Food:
    • Seth loves beer, soda, coffee, chocolate and pizza.
    • Tim Tim is very fond of donuts, except jelly-filled ones.
    • May has an obsession with ramen, to the point that her screams can travel miles if she has to give it up.
  • Troll: Flosshead is a good example, going around feeding off of the ire of the town at any given opportunity.
  • Vitriolic Best Buds: Seth and Tim Tim. They may constantly argue and snark at each other, but they're ultimately close-knit, sometimes to Ho Yay levels.
