- Leaning on the Fourth Wall: a lot of Chibi-USA's reactions to the differences in the alternate universe are meant to mimic a Japanese fans reaction to the changes in the dub.
- Narm: In-Universe, characters point out the ridiculous appearance of the monsters.
- Patchwork Fic: Provides a logical explanation for the dub changes. Also uses the manga version of Dark Moon.
- Shout-Out: the bomber is called Eagle Striker
- The Starscream / Villain Team-Up: Jadeite and Grand Zirconia have teamed up to seize joint power. Once he becomes The Doom Phantom, the former kills the latter.
