There are twenty-six chapters. Each chapter is themed around a word, with the prompts being in alphabetical order from A-Z.
The story itself is a Yumi/Sachiko fic themed around their budding relationship. It eventually ends up in the two dating, and it goes on from there.
This fanfic provides examples of:
- Alternate Universe Fic: The story takes place before Sachiko graduated and before Touko became Yumi's petite soeur, yet Yumi and Sachiko are in a relationship.
- Aborted Declaration of Love: Yumi tries to confess to Sachiko, gets nervous part way, and instead accidentally says that she loves earthworms. Luckily for her, Sachiko has a better Love Confession in that same chapter.
- Indirect Kiss: Yumi ponders about indirect kisses after Sachiko drinks from the same glass as her.
- Kissing Cousins: There's something between cousins Yoshino and Rei.
- Love Confession: Sachiko delivers one to Yumi. Yumi has a Delayed Reaction but recuperates the feelings.
- Male Gaze:
- The story starts with Sachiko getting distracted by Yumi's recent chest growth.
- Later on, Yumi becomes preoccupied with Sachiko after she begins thinking about bras.
- Slash Fic: In canon, Yumi and Sachiko never do a Relationship Upgrade. Sachiko and Yumi's Alphabet fixes that.
- Their First Time: Chapter 24, "Xylophone", is about the first time between Sachiko and Yumi.
