The sequel to the highly popular Spider-Man Fix Fic Breaking the Deal by NKSCF, Repercussions deals with the aftermath of Spider-Man's defeat of Mephisto and the death of Aunt May. Thanks to the help of his allies, Spider-Man is now re-married to Mary Jane and has his secret identity restored. With his status quo changed once more, Spider-Man sets out to do as he has always done: Be a hero. However, during a team-up with Wolverine, Spider-Man discovers that with Mephisto deposed, several demon lords such as N'astirh and Dormammu are ready to fill in the gap Mephisto left behind and will invade Earth in order to rule over it as well.
Only eight chapters in, Repercussions, like its predecessor, is receiving high praise and will focus mostly on the life of Spider-Man as he goes about his life, but will also follow a Myth Arc based on the consequences of the ending of Breaking the Deal.

- Acceptable Breaks from Canon: The feeling of the majority of the reviewers for this series, who primarily consider themselves to despise the recent continuity of the Spider-Man comics. However, even though he disagrees with what's going on, NKSCF has incorporated elements from canon into his fan-fic to help tie the two together.
- Affably Evil: Dr. Octopus shows traits of this when he interrupts Aunt May's funeral to give some flowers in honor of the time when he almost married her. Peter, touched by the gesture, lets Dr. Octopus leave without attacking him.
- Alliterative Name: Peter Parker, natch.
- Antagonist in Mourning: Doctor Octopus for Aunt May.
- Avengers Assemble: And indeed they do, along with the Fantastic Four and the X-Men to make sure that Jean Grey can successfully come back to life.
- Back from the Dead: NKSCF was not happy that Roderick Kingsley was killed off so easily and brought him back, thanks to the Shadow King. Due to circumstances at the time, Jean Grey was also brought back to life.
- Big Damn Heroes: Spider-Man mentions this by name when he asks Captain America and Steve Rogers to save him from HYDRA.
- Brick Joke: An absolutely hilarious one: Spider-Man finally gets back at Johnny Storm for the Amazing Bag-Man incident, which happened over twenty years ago.
- The Bus Came Back: Plenty of Spider-Man's supporting cast who haven't been utilized recently came to attend Aunt May's funeral. It was awesome.
- Can't Hold His Liquor: As a rule, Spider-Man doesn't drink too much, as he's afraid of what he could do if he was ever drunk and not in control of himself. However, he doesn't mind having a beer with Wolverine to talk about Nightcrawler's death.
- Comes Great Responsibility: It's a Spider-Man fan-fic, so it's only natural.
- Continuity Porn: Due to massive Author Appeal, every chapter has some form of continuity porn for the readers. Be it an actual attempt to make Chuck Austen's horrible run believable or references to things that happened forever ago.
- Cosmic Retcon: Spider-Man invokes this when he tells Jewel why he can't explain to her how it's possible for Jean Grey to be coming back to life.
- Dark Is Not Evil: So far, the Juggernaut, the reformed Magneto, and Doctor Doom have agreed to help out the heroes in the fight against the demon lords.
- Depending on the Writer:
NKSCF prefers his Spider-Man to be married to Mary Jane, loved by most of the heroes he runs into, and constantly getting involved in situations he's more used to (street-level crime), and cosmic threats that he's the constant underdog in. NKSCF says he likes pre-One More Day Roger Stern, Stan Lee, Steve Ditko, and Dan Slott's interpretations of the character the best. - Doorstopper: The current plan is for this to be 100 chapters long.
- Due to the Dead: Wolverine feels this way about dealing with Azazel, as he wants to honor Nightcrawler's memory appropriately.
- Enforced Cold War: For the most part, there was one between the demon lords, but when Spider-Man defeated Mephisto, it's no longer so cold and Earth is free game.
- Fiery Redhead: Mary Jane, Jean Grey, and Medusa fit this to a tee.
- Fix Fic: Like its predecessor, Repercussions is a fix fic for the One More Day storyline.
- Friendship Moment: Two really big ones with Spider-Man and Wolverine sharing a beer recalling how much they appreciated having Nightcrawler as an ally before he died, and then Spider-Man and the Human Torch talking on the Statue of Liberty about how it would have been cool if Johnny had managed to gather a group of Spider-Man's allies to make sure he didn't have to leave Aunt May's funeral to fight the Sinister Six, which they both know Johnny didn't do, because then he would have to admit that he cares about his friendship with Peter. It gets better when Peter slaps him on the back to plant a message that says "Kick me" on it, a call back to the time when Johnny made him wear the Amazing Bag-Man outfit.
- From Bad to Worse: Even though Spider-Man managed to defeat Mephisto, he inadvertently let other demon lords gain the opportunity to take over the gap that Mephisto left behind, leaving Earth more vulnerable to demonic invasion than it has ever been before. Even worse than the events of Inferno.
- Gondor Calls for Aid: Spider-Man, Jewel, Stature, Vision, and Noh-Varr call the Fantastic Four, both Avengers teams, and the X-Men for help when Spider-Man finds out that Jean Grey is going to be resurrected.
- Good Is Not Dumb: The smartest men and women in the Marvel Universe gathered the discuss their plan to fight off the coming invasion, and no one would dare call any of them stupid in the presence of people like Reed Richards and Bruce Banner.
- Happily Married: Peter and Mary Jane thanks to the defeat of Mephisto.
- Heterosexual Life-Partners: Spider-Man and the Human Torch are this trope exactly. Nothing more.
- Humble Hero: Spider-Man has his moments of pride in his work, but at the end of the day he expects nothing more than to have saved a life to be his reward for crime fighting.
- The Incorruptible: HYDRA originally chose to sacrifice Steve Rogers to let out Leviathan, because only someone who was pure of heart could be sacrificed, so when they capture Spider-Man instead, they use him instead and knock him out. When he wakes up he bemoans the fact that he just happens to be so good and lampshades the whole ordeal.
- Intergenerational Friendship: A very odd one between Spider-Man and his daughter May from the future, given that the two have never physically met and Spider-Man annoys her with his lame jokes.
- It's Personal: Spider-Man punches Dark Beast harder than before when he learns that he experimented on Nate Grey, who was one of his best friends before he died, and was just recently resurrected.
- It Sucks to Be the Chosen One: Spider-Man is definitely feeling this after what he's been told about his role in future events. The worst part being that he doesn't know exactly what he's supposed to do or how.
- Jerkass: Namor is what he is, but he's practical enough to help the other heroes vote on what they need to do next to fight off the coming invasion.
- Journey to the Center of the Mind: Emma Frost, Professor Xavier, Karma, Psylocke, Hope, and X-Man enter Jean Grey's mind to help her be able to resurrect properly and avoid falling under the control of the Shadow King.
- Lampshade Hanging: Spider-Man, doing what he does best, constantly lampshades everything that happens to him, thanks to the fact that he has been a superhero for years and knows the tropes as they occur.
- The Masquerade Will Kill Your Dating Life: Not anymore, seeing as Spidey's married to Mary Jane again, and she's more than happy to make things stay the way they are.
- The Quest: Spider-Man's quest is to do whatever it takes to save his world from a demon invasion that he accidentally caused when he defeated Mephisto.
- Rage Against the Author: Deadpool, being Deadpool, does this quite often, calling NKSCF out for all the cliches he's writing and his childish humor.
- Samaritan Syndrome: Spider-Man has this to some degree, so much that the Human Torch makes sure he doesn't know anything about the Sinister Six calling him out to fight them during Aunt May's funeral.
- "Shaggy Dog" Story: Spider-Man, Hawkeye, and Mockingbird managed to stop Zodiac and his team from getting revenge on Norman Osborn by stealing a book from a museum. However Zodiac had been possessed by the Space Phantom, who had stolen the Darkhold from the museum, which has now given Norman the magic he needs for his supposed upcoming Thanatos Gambit.
- Sharing a Body: Thanks to the help of their allies and some Heroic Sacrifice, Jean Grey, Emma Frost, and Nate Grey are all in one body, with one Jean in charge.
- Serious Business: "Tales of Vesperia is serious business!"
- Shout-Out: Some to TV Tropes itself thanks to the author being an active troper. And a more recent one to Tales of Vesperia, a video game the author really loves.
- Take That!: This whole series is a continuation of Breaking the Deal's take that against Marvel's current usage of Spider-Man, with plenty of friendly lampshading on the subject.
- There's also another one in the third chapter, where Spider-Man mentions Knightfall.
- Thanatos Gambit: It looks like Norman Osborn is looking to try this out for reasons unknown.
- Understanding Boyfriend: More like an understanding wife. Mary Jane is many things and she doesn't like to see Peter get hurt, but she supports his decision to be Spider-Man with every fiber of her being.
- Vitriolic Best Buds: Spider-Man's relationship with Wolverine and the Human Torch. However, when push comes to shove, all of them will work together to help each other out.
- Zombie Apocalypse: Spider-Man and Deadpool manage to avert one when Black Talon and Gamecock try to use Simon Garth—the Zombie—and the zombie virus he has in him during a basketball game at Madison Square Garden. They then give Zombie to Stephen Strange for safekeeping.
