Celestia leaves to go on sabbatical, but disappears without a trace. Luna asks Twilight to look into her disappearance. A decade later Twilight gets a message claiming to be from Celestia, Rainbow takes her to Canterlot where they meet up with Luna. They discover a hidden workstation where Twilight accidentally triggers a device that zaps Rainbow into a virtual recreation of Equestria, where she soon meets up with Celestia and encounters an enemy she never expected.
