My Arms are Blue! is a "Let's Watch Our Show" Plot Fan Fic by thekyuubivixen featuring the video game cast of Sonic the Hedgehog watching the events of Sonic Boom after Sonic the Hedgehog, Miles "Tails" Prower, Amy Rose, Knuckles the Echidna, Shadow the Hedgehog, and Doctor Eggman are left trapped in the house of the former two by a "mysterious thing" that will only set them free if they watch all episodes of Sonic Boom's first season.

Summary: Sonic and crew watch the television show Sonic Boom...and may or may not go crazy in the process.

Can be found on Fanfiction Dot Com and Archive of Our Own.

At thirty chapters, it has not been updated since November of 2020.

Features examples of:

  • Adapted Out: Although Orbot and Cubot have Boom counterparts of their own, Game Eggman commented that he scrapped his own helper bots for being annoying and is surprised to see them on the show.
  • Become a Real Boy: After the "Freaky Friday" Flip, Metal Sonic desires an organic body of his own. The thing grants his wish during "New Year's Retribution
  • Berserk Button: It doesn't take long for both Knuckles and Eggman to be annoyed by their counterparts respective Dumb Muscle and Stupid Evil traits.
  • Big Eater: Aside from Eggman's complaint about his counterpart wasting breakfast food in "Hedgehog Day", Metal Sonic develops a deep interest in food upon switching bodies with Sonic upon them watching "The Meteor".
  • Clingy Jealous Girl: Upon seeing Sticks the Badger for the first time, Amy can't help but get suspicious of her being close to Boom Sonic, especially upon watching "My Fair Sticksy".
  • Deadpan Snarker: Many of the watchers get in on this, especially Knuckles in the chapter covering "Dude, Where's My Eggman?" regarding the flashback scene from his counterpart's perspective.
  • Didn't Think This Through: After getting in an argument with Metal Sonic, Eggman removes his directive to destroy Sonic to prove he can do so on his own. He quickly realizes that he just deprived himself of one of his greatest assets.
  • Eldritch Abomination: The "thing" hosting the marathon.
  • Even Evil Has Standards: Evil though he may be, Eggman could not help but sympathize with Boom Tails missing the pie festival in "How to Succeed in Evil Without Really Trying" and was just as freaked as everyone else at seeing Sticks pull out Boom Knuckles' tooth with rope.
  • Everyone Has Standards: Upon seeing Sticks pull out Boom Knuckles' tooth in "Hedgehog Day", Shadow could not help but comment that even he wouldn't be that violent.
  • Exact Words: When he learns how much pain hurts, Metal vows to never inflict it again. He soon clarifies that he can still kill people painlessly.
  • Fan Disservice: Eggman gets transported to Tails' house in just his boxers. Rouge eventually (and thankfully) gets him an oversized shirt to cover up with. Also, everyone is appalled by the events of "Eggheads."
  • First Time Feeling: During the "Freaky Friday" Flip, Metal ends up in Sonic's body, allowing him to feel things like pain, taste, and laughter.
  • Flat "What": The first thing that came out of Knuckles' mouth upon watching his counterpart go "Super Saiyan" in "Dude, Where's My Eggman?" with everyone else thinking the same thing then and later in "Unlucky Knuckles" about the luck balance of the universe.
  • "Freaky Friday" Flip: The thing swaps Rouge with Eggman, Tails with Knuckles, Amy with Shadow, and Sonic with Metal. See Grand Theft Me below for more.
  • The Gadfly: Metal certainly has his moments.
  • Girls Have Cooties: Tails can't help but feel this way as he and the others watch "Tails' Crush", despite Amy's insistence that he'd make a great boyfriend.
  • Grand Theft Me: As punishment for Rouge breaking into the watch party for "Unlucky Knuckles", the "thing" swaps everyone's bodies until they wrapped up "The Meteor".
  • "Groundhog Day" Loop: After airing "Hedgehog Day," the thing traps Shadow in a time loop. Eggman correctly deduces that, to escape, Shadow has to rewatch the episode while re-enacting everything he said and did during it. It takes him dozens of attempts but it works.
  • Insistent Terminology: Upon hearing Eggman's reasoning for calling even Tails a rodent, Metal Sonic decides to refer to him as a rodent as well.
  • Internal Reveal: By watching the show, Boom Knuckles learns what really happened in "New Year's Retribution."
  • Lampshade Hanging: The gang spend much of the show pointing out all the ridiculousness in it.
  • Late Character Syndrome: Aside from the main six, Metal Sonic, Rouge the Bat, and Silver the Hedgehog join them in watching the series as well.
  • Locked Out of the Loop: Because they're not aware of the fourth wall themselves, the gang gets confused whenever the Boom! characters break or lean on it.
  • Man, I Feel Like a Woman: Defied. During the "Freaky Friday" Flip, Rouge orders Eggman to sit perfectly still to avoid this trope.
  • Muscles Are Meaningless: Game Knuckles easily beats Boom Knuckles in arm-wrestling twice in a row.
  • My God, What Have I Done?: After learning what pain feels like, Metal becomes furious that Eggman has been having him inflict it on others.
  • Not So Above It All: As soon as they witness coconut hurl in "Cowbot", Knuckles shortly agrees with Sonic to play that game themselves so long as he's the thrower.
  • One-Steve Limit: Invoked. To avoid confusion, the two Knuckles have an arm-wrestling contest, with the loser (Boom Knuckles) taking on a nickname.
  • Running Gag: Evil ham and the luck balance of the universe are just two examples.
  • Shipper on Deck: Amy doesn't resist shipping her and Sonic's Boom counterparts as well as Boom Tails with Zooey.
  • Sleep Deprivation: Shadow had pulled an all-nighter doing paperwork before the thing forced everyone to watch the show. It does no favors for his mood.
  • Special Guest: The "thing" abducts Boom Knuckles, who Game Knuckles nicknames as "Mittens", to join the watch party for a brief amount of time. It later does the same thing with Silver..
  • Surprisingly Realistic Outcome: During a spice-eating contest, Sonic attempts to cool his mouth with water. He learns the hard way that this just makes the pain worse.
