Jack: This little girl has a world of potential. Prepare her family. I can't wait to see what we can bring out in her.

Miscalculation is a one-shot Worm fanfiction by ack1308, where the Slaughterhouse Nine try to convert Riley Davis into Bonesaw, but she gets a different powerset, and it ends badly for them.

It is published on FanFiction.Net (here), SpaceBattles.com (here), Sufficient Velocity.com (here), and Questionable Questing (here).

Jack Slash wasn't ready for these tropes:

  • All Your Powers Combined: Riley's trigger is influenced by all the Nine's shards, giving her an extremely lethal powerset that quickly neutralises and ends them.Author note
  • Combat Medic: Riley still has her canonical medical insights, and in combination with her new shapeshifting limbs, is able to fix her family's injuries in moments, in between killing Hatchet Face and Shatterbird.
  • Combat Tentacles: Riley's primary power is the ability to shapeshift her limbs, splitting them into long flexible tentacles that form tools and weapons on the ends to disassemble her enemies.
  • Gone Horribly Right: Jack is convinced that Riley has potential waiting to be unlocked. He doesn't realise she has the potential to kill all of the Nine.
  • Healing Factor: Mannequin injures Riley even as she does the same to him, but she heals as fast as he cuts, and he doesn't heal at all.
  • Killed Mid-Sentence: Jack has just started to shake off the dizziness from Riley's trigger and remark, "That's more like—" when Riley turns him to mincemeat.
  • Literal Disarming: Winter tries to pull a pistol, so Riley starts by cutting her arm off before going after the rest of her.
  • Orifice Invasion: Riley's flaying tentacles kill multiple members of the Nine from the inside out, going down their throats and carving them up. Hatchet Face is actually too tough for Riley to easily cut his skin, so she removes all his innards via his mouth and leaves the skin empty.
  • Power Parasite: Riley's body is able to absorb other material into itself and use it to raise her threat level even higher.
Her whole body was stronger with the metal she'd taken away from the mechanical man.
  • Roaring Rampage of Revenge: Riley is very upset about the Nine hurting her family, and once she triggers, she quickly hunts them all down and slaughters them, even William Manton in his van multiple blocks away.
  • Skewed Priorities: Riley likes to be neat. She leaves the Nine's dismembered remains in neat tidy piles.
  • Super-Speed: Riley's "surgery" is fast. As in, Jack Slash was completely disassembled into separate piles of organs and bones in less than a second, before his usual Broadcast-powered survival instincts could save him.
  • A Taste of Their Own Medicine: Jack Slash wanted to see what Riley is like deep down, so she takes him apart to see what he's made of deep down.
In the end, it seemed like he was just a bunch of muscles and bones and stuff that Riley didn't have names for.
