The Miniverse is made of two series: Mini's Shorts and Wiccan & Swordsgirl.
Mini's Shorts: The misadventures of half-human, half-bird youkai magician Mini, his human roommate and sword prodigy Megumi, a large cast of original characters, plus the canon Touhou cast. The series begins with a lighthearted and comedic tone, focusing on the antics of the characters, Mini's budding romance with Utsuho, and Megumi's rivalry with Remilia Scarlet, but becomes increasingly complex in terms of its use of characters and plotlines. Wiccan & Swordsgirl: After the events of Mini's Shorts, Mini begins suffering from headaches, nightmares, and other strange phenomena. Between his usual misadventures, Mini tries to find the source of these strange problems, and it seems the answer may have to do with whether he's more human or more youkai. Like Mini's Shorts, it continues the classic Slice of Life style of the previous series, only now it has a much wider story arc and a more serious tone. Watch it here.

- Cerebus Syndrome: The tone becomes more somber and mellow as it goes on.
- Dark and Troubled Past: Megumi, whose parents were killed in the Vampire Incident.

- Eye Catch: They start appearing in later episodes.
- Fantastic Racism: Satori towards Mini for coming from the surface.
- Fantasy Kitchen Sink: Gensokyo, as par for Touhou.
- Half-Human Hybrid: Mini is a half-human, half-crow tengu youkai. To learn magic more quickly, he agreed to become a half-youkai hybrid, which apparently comes with dangerous side-effects. This comes back to bite him in W&S.
- Jerk with a Heart of Gold: Mima. Despite constantly trolling Reimu (and everyone else), she still cares for Mini.
- Knight of Cerebus: Shino.
- Names to Run Away from Really Fast: Ichigo "Nightmare" Hirai. Subverted: she's actually pretty nice.
- Parental Abandonment: Both Mini and Megumi. Mini never knew his real parents, Megumi's parents died in the Vampire Incident.
- Original Flavour: Follows very closely to Touhou Canon whenever it's not focused on the original characters.
- Season Fluidity: Starts off as episodic, but increasingly gains its own continuity, culminating in W&S.
- The Slacker: Hiraku Okami.
- Slice of Life
- Tsundere: Momiji, towards Hiraku. In Episode 3 of W&S, Aya calls Momiji a Tsundere. Then, Momiji digs herself deeper by spouting out tons of typical Tsundere lines.
- Too Good for This Sinful Earth: Yuzuki Hirai and Kazuko Izumi. Both were kindhearted people who died leaving behind their loved ones. Yuzuki was "revived", though.
- Twice Shy: Mini and Utsuho.

- Funny Background Event: In The Meeting of Two Birds, there is a warhead with backwards writing on it, and a sign above it reading, "I'm backwards. What of if?"

- In A Day At The Springs, Koishi's Ax-Crazy antics if something went wrong with her hat is an obvious reference to a certain fan video series.
