"Do not lose all your lives, or your destiny will be related to the death of X"

Mega Man X Revenge is a fan fiction creepypasta written by SuperKuperX and translated by Ball_Hog52. The premise is about a boy named Ian Vicencio, refered to as Ivan, who is a big fan of the Mega Man X series who stumbles upon severe misfortune.

The story begins with him detailing how his brother died long ago. The incident caused him to move away from his father and live with his best friend. However, said friend vanishes. He eventually reunites with his father and his video store where he finds a mysterious SNES cartridge marked MXR.

Curious, he decides to play the game to find it to be a Mega Man X game. However, it is no ordinary game. He soon discovers he has to beat the game or else a horrible fate will befall him.

This creepypasta is an interquel to Ball_Hog52's first Mega Man creepypasta, Mega Man 3 Special Edition.

The creepypasta can be read here.

Tropes:

  • Adaptational Species Change: The actual SCP-616 is a plane that is covered in satanic symbol with the emergency door opening every 30 days to supposedly hell. Here, it is a video game that forces those who start it up to play it in full or die while presenting itself within the game as a virus far worse than even the Sigma virus.
  • Downer Ending: Both in the game itself and the story as a whole. Ivan manages to beat the game with the final cutscene having X succumb to the SCP-616B virus, dying as the game display the end. Afterward, Ivan's television explodes with the Super Nintendo vanishing, leaving the game cartridge mysteriously still in one piece. when he tries to return it to his father's video store, he finds out said store has burned down and his father died within.
  • "Everybody Dies" Ending: At the end of the game, everybody is dead. X has managed to kill Zero, Axl, and Sigma, but he dies to the virus as well.
  • Machine Blood: Reploids are humanoid machines, yet the game has them bleeding red blood with even the bosses exploding and covering X in blood when beaten.
  • The Most Dangerous Video Game: Once the game is started, it can't be stopped in any way. The console can't be turned off or reset, the cartrige can't be removed, the tv won't turn off, and attmpting to unplug the cables will result in getting shocked. All exits in the room are sealed up as well with lights off. The only way out is to beat the game without getting a game over.
  • Power Copying: Averted. Unlike an actual Mega Man game, X doesn't get the abilities of the mavericks he defeats. Instead they just explode in blood and he warps away with no fanfare. This means X is stuck with his buster for the whole game.
  • That One Level: In-Universe. When Ivan plays Blaze Heatnix's stage, it really seemed like it would be impossible due to it starting with a mini boss that had two huge healthbars, and lava that was really hard to dodge. Fortunately, he manages to get through the level without losing all his lives.
  • Red Eyes, Take Warning: Everybody infected with SCP-616B has red eyes and are very dangerous.
  • See You in Hell: the bosses for the sigma stages are the antagonists of each game all the way to Lumine from X8. Upon defeat, a majority of them say they will see X in hell before they die.
  • Show Within a Show: While still very much a dangerous game to be playing, the game itself has a story of its own with X having to fight those infected by the SCP-616B virus after an infected Zero slaughtered everybody at Maverick Hunter HQ.
  • Suspicious Video-Game Generosity: Upon reaching Sigma's levels, Ivan finds a black helmet and black heart which makes his health bar bigger than it has ever been in an actual Mega Man X game as well as giving him 100 lives. He is quick to realize why shortly after.
