Love At First Sight is a Once Upon a Time fanfic based on the Romantic Comedy Mr. Right. It follows Regina Mills, who, after breaking up with her cheating boyfriend Robin, begins seeing Emma Swan, a mysterious woman who is funny and charming but claims to be a professional killer. Despite initially believing Emma to be joking, Regina soon finds herself dragged into a war as twin brothers, Jekyll and Hyde, try to kill Emma.

- Adaptation Relationship Overhaul:
- In canon, Emma and Regina, while eventually becoming friends, hated each other at first and constantly tried to kill each other. In this fic, the two get along great from their first meeting, instantly falling in love, and even after it is revealed that Emma is a former assassin, they don't really fight at all.
- In the show, Emma and Neal feel in love with each other before the show aired and even had a kid together before Neal was forced to abandon her. Here, they have never met before and only interact one time while Neal is attempting to kill her before kidnapping her girlfriend, Regina.
- Adaptational Villainy: Neal is one of Emma's love interests in the show. Here, he works for Jekyll and tries to kill both Emma and Regina, even bragging about killing a turtle for fun.
- Affectionate Nickname: Emma takes to referring to Regina as "Panda" after learning of Regina's love for Pandas. Regina finds it adorable, and Emma keeps doing it until the end of the story.
- Beware the Silly Ones: Emma is kind and quirky, constantly making dorky jokes and dancing everywhere she goes. She even takes to wearing a clown nose later in the story. However, she is also a former assassin and able to take multiple groups sent to kill her without breaking a sweat. She also kills her clients who hire to kill people. She even reveals that part of the reason that she retired was as much her boredom as it was her being tired of killing innocent people.
- Bullet Time: Emma sees everything in slow motion when she kills and that includes bullets and guns, even being able to catch shampoo bottles faster than the eye can see. Regina can also do this after Emma teaches her how to and deploys it to kill Neal and Jekyll in the climax.
- Cain and Abel: Jekyll wants to kill his older brother, Hyde, and take over the criminal empire.
- Drowning My Sorrows: After breaking up with Robin and being attacked by a cat on the same day, Regina decides to drink a whole bottle of wine and is continuing to do so when Kathryn finds her.
- Friendly Enemy: Emma is quite friendly to those she kills, making friendly chit-chat. In fact, her being kind to David is what convinces him to save her life from Whale at the end.
- Love at First Sight: Emma and Regina meet one day at the grocery store and instantly fall in love with each other. The two are so in love that Regina's friends Kathryn and Mary Margaret comment that it is not normal.
- Plot-Inciting Infidelity: The fic starts with Regina catching her boyfriend Robin Hood cheating on her. This causes her to break up with him and she meets Emma the next day, which leads to the whole main plot kicking off.
- You Are Better Than You Think You Are: Emma falls for Regina right away because she sees potential in her to be able to do great things. Emma even teaches Regina how to catch knives using Bullet Time like she can despite Regina thinking it is impossible.
