Look Over His Shoulder is a My Hero Academia Inciting Incident One-Shot by liketolaugh.

At the end of their first year, Mineta slips Yaoyorozu a roofie. This marks the end of part one, the part where he’s a harmless and annoying child. The second part begins with a call.

It should be noted that this Fan Work isn't playing around in certain areas. A story where Mineta's creepy pervertedness is not Played for Laughs and instead has serious implications of what could easily happen if Mineta turned things up a notch and became a much darker character. It has dark themes of sexual harassment and Attempted Rape so please keep that in mind before reading this story.

You can find it here.

Look Over His Shoulder provides examples of:

  • Adaptational Villainy: Following his expulsion, Mineta devolves into a stalker and rapist who's hunting his former girl classmates as revenge.
  • Attempted Rape: Mineta tried this with Hagakure first when he roofied the soda so he could rape her when she was disoriented and unconscious but thankfully it spilt all over her shirt before she drank anything. Then he tried the same thing with Momo only to fail when the others figured out he roofied the drink. Later Mineta will attempt to rape her in her own apartment. He fails obviously and that'll be his downfall.
  • First-Person Perspective: Throughout the whole story, the One-Shot is only done in Mina's Point of View though other characters get plenty of screen time.
  • Generation Xerox: Jirou has followed in the footsteps of her musical-themed teacher Present Mic by creating her own radio show.
  • Hair-Trigger Temper: Bakugou's temper hasn't gotten much better over the years and this really shows whenever Mineta is brought up. Kirishima was forced to talk him out of murder a time or two and he always stomps around in a huff whenever Mineta is brought up. Not that anyone can blame him really.
  • Hated by All: Nobody likes Mineta in this. They didn't like him much even before when he was their classmate but after when he groped Momo in public after stopping a villain? The public was outraged to say the least since she's such a popular hero. In the end, though Mineta wasn't arrested the police was finally forced to grant her a restraining order.
  • Hate Sink: Mineta definitely. The more you read this fic the more depraved his actions are. Everybody hates him and for good reason too after all the crap he puts his former classmates through. All the creepy stalking, pictures he's taken, fan mail he's sent, and calls he's made. There literally isn't a single redeeming trait in him.
  • Police Are Useless: Kind of the theme for the whole fic and why Mineta was still allowed to walk around freely despite stalking and harassing them for so long. According to the police, the girls can handle one simple pervert themselves because they're heroes after all. They generally ignore the issue because there wasn't enough evidence or eyewitness accounts to arrest him. It takes a public sexual harassment charge that'll finally give Momo a restraining order against him and an attempt to rape Mina in her own apartment before they finally arrest him.
  • Powerful and Helpless: In spite of All Might's decade-long service and influence, not even he is able to get the local police to do anything to help his former students. Mina even wonders if the word of "All Might" himself has no value in the present day.
  • Properly Paranoid: The girls are all paranoid and for good reason. Somehow Mineta keeps finding all their phone numbers and texting them creepy perverted messages no matter how many times they block him. They don't open up any fan mail anymore just in case he sends them creepy photographs about themselves anymore. They're all jumpy at night afraid he might break in all of a sudden. It only makes it worse with how the police won't do anything about it.
  • Realism-Induced Horror: If the League of Villains exists at all, nothing they've done would be anywhere near as horrifying as what Mineta has done and attempted to do to the girls. The sad fact is sexual predators like him rarely get brought to justice until it's too late for the victim.
  • "The Reason You Suck" Speech:
    • Aizawa gives a noteworthy one to Mineta after he finds out he drugged Momo and planned to have his way with her.
Aizawa: You are a hero student. At best, you are expected to push progress above and beyond current norms. At worst, you must have, at least, a modicum of decency and human compassion. I have tolerated your perversions until now because I believed that you were young and would eventually grow out of them. However, now you have gone too far. I will not teach a student who will so take advantage of his classmates.
    • Later on Kaminari also gives a very satisfying one to Mineta after he catches him calling Mina's cellphone.
Kaminari: Leave her alone, you disgusting little creep. She hates you, I hate you, and no one wants you around, and if you keep doing this we’re going to have you arrested, Mineta, this isn’t even legal. Haven’t you learned one little thing in your whole damn life?
  • Reasonable Authority Figure: Both Aizawa and Toshinori can be considered this. They've both stayed by their sides despite Class A already graduating and pushed for Mineta's arrest many times. Mina considered them very trustworthy over the years.
Mina [Narration]: All Might was Midoriya’s mentor and guardian, but Aizawa had always been there for each of them as much as the next, and she had never met anyone more reliable.
  • Spotting the Thread: When Momo started getting tired all of a sudden, no one suspected Mineta of any nefarious deeds and just thought she was exhausted from studying too much. That is until Todoroki got suspicious and remembered Momo accepted an opened soda from Mineta...
  • Stalker with a Crush: Mineta's perversions are still strong as he sends uncomfortable texts to his former girl classmates when they become Pros.
  • Time Skip: After Mineta's expulsion, the story cuts to the future where Mina and her classmates are now Pro Heroes in their early twenties.
  • True Companions: The bonds of Class 1-A continue to be strong even after high school. The girls openly support each other when dealing with Mineta's calls and the boys offer to do anything they can to protect them.
