Living With Myself
is a fanfic based around The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time with a bit of The Legend of Zelda: Majora's Mask thrown in.
It had been many years since Link had defeated Ganondorf, sent back in time, saved Termina and returned home. However, even though everything seems peaceful, the Hero of Time's life is anything but. Dark Link has returned to pester him, and something is going on with the Fierce Deity's Mask.
Living with Myself provides examples of:
- Awful Truth: Sheik was a separate person, loyal to Princess Zelda, who had to be sealed away and erased from everyone's memories to keep the timelines separated. All because he shares the same blood as the princess.
- Big Damn Heroes: Link, obviously. However, Dark Link is the most noticeable example despite having being tormented and violated by Ganondorf, he still went save Sheik from him.
- Break the Haughty: Dark Link has a moment when Oni Link grants him the power to change his appearance slightly, allowing him to even look like Link if needed. Apparently, he refused to come out of the shadows for a day.
- Can't Live Without You: Dark Link and Link. It’s also stated that if they're too far apart, they can't die.
- Dark Is Not Evil: Dark Link and Impa, the Shadow Mage, are both primary examples of this.
- Demonic Possession: Actually, it's more like Divine possession, but the Three Goddess, Din, Nayru and Farore decide to hijack Ganondorf, Zelda and Link, to settle their battle with the Fierce Deity.
- Jerkass Gods: Oh, they really are.
- Stepford Snarker: Dark Link is known for being a jerk throughout the story, but deep down he really is insecure and caring. His jerk attitude is actually a way to get attention.
- Twin Telepathy: Link, Dark Link and Oni Link all share the same mind, being able to read each other's thoughts, feelings and send each other information they think is important. They can cave use each other's eyesight if needed. And Dark Link and Link's bond is so strong, they share injuries.
